Horrific experience – Unprofessional, rude, and aggressive!!! I have visited hundreds of gay bars worldwide, but unfortunately, K1 is by far the most horrible one. I was shocked by how aggressively the staff treated their customers, especially within a community that is supposed to be safe and inclusive. The nightmare started when we politely asked for a phone charger. While one female bartender was kind enough to say they didn't have one, another male bartender snapped at my German friend, shouting: „Is your brain too limited to understand my answer? I DON’T HAVE!“ We decided to leave immediately. However, the situation escalated at the cashier. The same bartender continued yelling at us from behind the bar. When my friend, understandably upset, paid the bill, the cashier physically shoved him with significant force. I had to step in to stop the physical confrontation. Shockingly, despite being the aggressors, they even threatened to call the police. Just writing this now and thinking of what happened in this bar, I was so upset, disappointed and also sad. As an asian gay living in Europe is already hard enough, and being treated like this in a GAY BAR. Is that really necessary to be rude and even use the violence to your customer? Or stranger? Or Gay. I know the owner of this bar will reply this comment, trying to explain and self-defense, there might be also misunderstandings, but it couldn’t change the fact that they hurt my friend and they hurt our feelings. And I sincerely suggest who read this comment, please think twice before you go to K1 bar, especially if you’re new here and you’re not German, or not white color. For your good experience in Germany and for your safety. Amen.

I had a wonderful time here! The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming. Even though I was just passing through, I felt right at home. The owner is such a lovely person—he even greeted me in Turkish with the sweetest words, which totally made my day! It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality and friendly vibes. Definitely a highlight of my trip to Düsseldorf. Highly recommended!

I think it's a shame that gay people aren't among themselves anymore and that there are also straight people there. Where can you really party properly without straight people?

We went on a Tuesday which was karaoke and we had so much fun! The bartender was very kind and everyone made us feel very welcome.
