A really nice bar with plenty of space right in the heart of Mainz. You can get delicious drinks for a reasonable price, play board games, and simply have a good time. LGBTQ+ friendly and geared towards that. Thumbs up for their commitment.

Waiting time for drinks when the place is empty: at least 30 minutes. It gets longer when someone's there, and much longer when the place is full, which is almost never. Unfriendly, ungrateful (to volunteers), rude, discriminatory, arrogant, haughty, and very expensive. You're completely ignored when you walk in, even if you're the first customer and sit at the bar. The two paid staff members prefer to be on their phones or knitting, and after half an hour, you might get something from the volunteer kitchen helper if you make yourself known. But the paid staff continue to ignore you. If you volunteer, there's no gratitude. On the contrary, the management is rude and berates you because you might not have done a task perfectly. I've been there a few times and volunteered a couple of times, but NEVER AGAIN!!! This place doesn't need any support. It won't be a loss if it closes. Better to build something new. The temporary staff (volunteers) are very nice and they do work. But that doesn't make up for it. Besides, the drinks and food are so incredibly expensive that you immediately know they don't want poor people there. They think they're better than everyone else. You can often tell. So, absolutely NOT recommended!!! They have a lot of contempt for others but no help. This kind of place shouldn't be supported with taxpayers' money!

I only knew the bar from its karaoke nights, but today I took advantage of their stepchild adoption consultation service and wanted to say "thank you" again. They took so much time, and it was all completely free – I'm so glad such a service still exists! All my questions were answered, and I'm truly overjoyed that I stumbled upon this opportunity by chance. A thousand thanks for being there!

I contacted Bar jeder Sicht several times by email and in person in an acute emergency. I asked for information about specific contact points/support. I received no response; a comment/post I wrote was removed. Later, the City of Mainz confirmed in writing that Sichtbar Mainz e.V. does not offer any special services for trans people in need or without shelter (e.g., housing projects, emergency contacts, support). Conclusion: There was no help available for my situation. I would like to see clear communication on the website about what services are available and what isn't. Hence, 1 star.

This place is an utterly antisocial business. Yes, it's awful. Get rid of it immediately!
