Malta Pride ist eine der bedeutendsten LGBTQ+-Feiern des Mittelmeers in der Festungshauptstadt Valletta — einem UNESCO-Welterbe. Das Event ist besonders bedeutsam angesichts Maltas dramatischer Entwicklung: Innerhalb eines Jahrzehnts wandelte sich das Land von einer tief konservativen katholischen Gesellschaft zu einer der LGBTQ+-freundlichsten Nationen Europas. Malta wurde von ILGA-Europe mehrere Jahre in Folge auf Platz 1 für LGBTQ+-Rechte in Europa gesetzt.
