Malta Pride 2026
About This Event
Malta Pride is the annual high point of one of the most gay-friendly countries in the world. Malta has topped Europe's LGBTQ rights rankings for years — it was early to marriage equality and banned so-called conversion therapy — and its Pride, run by Allied Rainbow Communities, reflects that: confident, sunny, and centred on the tiny UNESCO capital of Valletta. In 2026 the festival runs 4–13 September under the banner "Equality from the Heart."
Pride Week builds across events around the capital to the Pride march and the free Pride concert, which in Malta traditionally happen in the warm evening rather than the midday heat — the march winds through Valletta's honey-coloured streets and squares and spills into a street party that goes late. Around it, the week fills with talks, parties and community events across Valletta and the harbour towns.
Because Malta is small and the whole scene is compact, Pride here feels less like a mega-city spectacle and more like a whole country turning out — which, more or less, it does.
Practical notes: Malta is warm and dry in early September, ideal festival weather. Valletta is walkable but hilly; stay in or near it, or in nearby Sliema and St Julian's where much of the nightlife lives, a short ferry or bus away. The full 2026 programme — the exact march date, route and line-up — is published by the organisers closer to the dates, so check maltapride.com before you plan the specific days.

Practical Tips
Valletta is compact and walled — leave the rental car, the whole parade route is walkable in flats.
The festival stretches over a week; pair the Valletta parade day with a chill afternoon at the Ta' Xbiex Marina stage.
Airport bus X4 drops you a short walk from most Valletta hotels for a couple of euros — a fraction of a taxi.
