About This Event
Arosa Gay Ski Week is a week-long LGBTQ+ event in Arosa, a resort village above Chur in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It's been running every January since 2005, organised by the Verein Arosa Gay Ski Week, a registered Swiss non-profit. The crowd's still mostly men, but it's mixed - the organisers made a conscious effort to bring in more lesbians after it started as a predominantly gay men's week. They claim over 800 guests attend; Switzerland Tourism says it's more than 900.
You spend your days skiing or boarding on the Arosa Lenzerheide lift network. Evenings are organised, with après-ski meetups, cabaret and drag shows, a classical concert, pool parties, and disco nights in the village hotels. The festival offers packages that include a hotel, event pass, and lift ticket - book early for the best price. You can also buy just the event pass and sort out your own accommodation.
Arosa's reachable by the Rhaetian Railway from Chur, a scenic hour-long ride. The village is small, and many guests stay in partner hotels, so rooms go quickly. It's not cheap - Switzerland's expensive, and Arosa's no budget resort. Non-skiers come for winter walks, sledging, and the evening programme.
The 2026 edition ran from 17 to 24 January, with over 900 participants. The 2027 edition is set for 16 to 23 January, according to the festival's site and Graubünden tourism. Check arosagayskiweek.com for programme details and package prices.
