About this place Arosa Gay Ski Week

Arosa Gay Ski Week is an annual winter gathering in the Swiss Alps that brings together LGBTQ+ travelers from around the globe. Held each January, the event welcomes participants from over 30 countries, creating an inclusive atmosphere where you can enjoy world-class skiing alongside social events and the chance to make friends from diverse backgrounds. The venue takes advantage of Arosa's excellent winter sports infrastructure. With the recent connection between the Arosa and Lenzerheide ski areas, visitors now have access to 225 kilometers of varied ski and snowboard runs suitable for different ability levels. Whether you're looking to spend your days on the slopes or prefer a more relaxed pace, the expanded terrain offers plenty of options. Beyond skiing and snowboarding, the event features parties and social gatherings that are central to the experience. Each January, the Swiss resort of Arosa turns queer for a week, as close to a thousand LGBTQ+ guests arrive from over 30 countries around the globe. But the welcome doesn't start and end with the event: Arosa has built a reputation as one of Switzerland's most LGBTQ+ friendly villages, year-round. Running since 2005, the event has kept a surprisingly personal feel for its size. Ringed by snow-covered peaks, Arosa offers the kind of alpine scenery postcards are made of, and the mountain here has plenty to offer. Since the resort connected its slopes with Lenzerheide, skiers and snowboarders now share 225 kilometres of varied terrain, from gentle blues to steeper runs for those chasing a challenge. Whatever your level, there's a way to enjoy it. But skiing is only half the story. Guests end up sharing a chairlift and a phone number by the second day, international drag shows fill cosy venues, and après-ski turns into something closer to a big, loud family reunion. Swiss precision keeps the lifts and schedules running smoothly. The rest is left to good company, mountain air, and whoever you happen to sit next to. New activities and parties are added each year, but the heart of it stays the same: mountain sport, warm company, and a village that, for one week, feels entirely yours.

The Gay Arosa Ski Week was an unforgettable celebration of community, fun, and fabulousness! A huge shoutout to Leonid, whose expert guidance on the slopes made every snowboarding adventure as smooth as the powder itself—your energy is infectious, and your passion is truly inspiring! And what can I say about the sensational Snowwhitetrash? Your saxophone performances, paired with your dazzling drag persona and impeccable choice of music, left the audience absolutely mesmerized. You are absolutely talented and unique! Don’t even get me started on the fuming rainbow of the drag race—it was a riot of color, charisma, and pure joy that left everyone cheering for more! As if it couldn’t get more magical, the sounds of “Bittersweet Symphony” by The Verve echoed in the air while the sky and the slopes lit up in the colors of the rainbow flags, making everyone feel so proud and deeply connected to this vibrant community. I’ll admit, I even dropped a tear. Last but not least, Alex, what an impeccable organization! You created a magical experience for everyone. One humble suggestion: adding a karaoke night could be a fantastic way for everyone to come together and let their inner divas shine even brighter. Bravo to the entire team for creating such an incredible event! If you haven’t visited Arosa yet, it’s time to book your flight I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND it!

Today we returned from Arosa after a fantastic week at GaySkiWeek. It was an amazing week with lots of different events. It was our second time there, and certainly not our last. Everything was superbly organized: group skiing, lunch, and après-ski. Afterwards, there were great dinner deals and, of course, the awesome parties. There is one downside, though: you need more outfits for all the parties 🙂😜, but it's worth packing a little extra. It's not mandatory, though. Anyone who wants to can experience something, but you can also spend quiet days or evenings. Everything is optional, nothing is required, and everyone is welcomed with open arms. All ages are welcome, there's no body shaming, just a very friendly and open group. No one has to be alone. We're already looking forward to next time. And let's not forget: Top-notch ski resort! And guaranteed snow.
