We stayed at La Val for two nights… here are my pros and cons: + Very friendly staff + Very nice and clean rooms + The food was sensational (dinner and breakfast) + The hotel is generally stylish and tastefully decorated - We felt "stressed" at dinner – the entire four-course meal was served within one hour. It also seemed like the staff wanted to finish work as quickly as possible… we then had a drink in the bar, as the restaurant was already dark. - On the second evening (Sunday), we wanted to have a nice evening in the main restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was closed, so we had to eat "in the bar" (which was supposed to be a separate restaurant – oh well). To be honest, I didn't think that was appropriate for the price. - In the future, please use a fresh/new cloth to wipe the floor; you can smell it. 😉

Hotel itself is nice, not too much on offer in the spa but it’s more than enough. The food is expensive but it is really good food, the wine prices however are just mad, there were almost double the price on some wines just meters away from another hotels restaurant. Unfortunately our room at around 300 a night (low season pricing) was nothing more than a pullout couch with a very soft mattress that lead to 4 nights of the worst sleep. Rooms themselves were also so hot with no option to adjust the temperature and if someone in the building even closed a cupboard in their room you heard it. Their attention to our dogs comfort though was on point! Dog bowls, bed, drying towels and even a treat upon arrival, everywhere in the hotel the staff are so quick to bring dogs water, and we even tried their meal service which was amazing! Well the hotel is pretty and the staff were perfect, very friendly and helpful there are some core issues that need addressing for that price range.

We had an excellent stay. The staff was friendly, the room clean and comfortable. The spa area was truly wonderful and relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were particularly impressive. We would love to come back!

We had dinner at the Miracla restaurant in the Hotel La Val. We were really looking forward to the evening, as the restaurant is advertised as upscale. However, the only thing upscale about it is the prices. We waited a good 40 minutes for our starter – a soup – and then another 50 minutes for our main courses, even though there weren't many other guests. The food was a huge disappointment: bland, unimaginative, and the meat was of poor quality and overcooked. The waiter was very attentive and even apologized for the extremely long wait. He also offered us dessert. Despite this kind gesture, it didn't improve the overall impression. We are often in this area and can recommend several excellent restaurants – but definitely not this one. The price-performance ratio is completely unacceptable!
