Montclair Pride
About This Event
Montclair Pride, a one-day street festival in Essex County, New Jersey, is run by Out Montclair, a nonprofit founded in 2021. It's been growing fast - organisers claim over 25,000 people showed up in 2024, and more than 30,000 in 2025.
Those numbers are based on the organisers' own counts.
The festival is free. In 2026, it kicked off with the new Equality in Motion March at 10:30, starting from the Montclair Public Library and making its way along Bloomfield Avenue.
The festival itself ran from noon to 5pm at Lackawanna Plaza, with a main stage, a family zone, food trucks, beer gardens, and over 150 vendors.
2026 was tough - rising production costs, a drop in corporate sponsorship, and police detail fees forced Out Montclair to move the festival twice: first from June 13 to August 1, then to Sunday, October 11, which happens to be National Coming Out Day. It went ahead despite the rain.
Actress Dominique Jackson, Cathy Renna, and drag performer Harmonica Sunbeam took the stage, according to Montclair Local.
No headcount was available for 2026.
As of our last check, it wasn't clear if the 2027 festival would return to its original June date.
