The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection
Visitors praise the hotel's rooms, workers, rooftop, food, and views. However, a significant complaint is the hotel's "pet friendly" policy, which some guests found misleading as only dogs are allowed, leading to disappointment and being asked to leave with cats.

Visited hotel for a networking event. Rooftop vibe is beautiful. Great place to mingle and hang out with friends.
Our experience at the MC Hotel has completely eliminated the possibility of our staying on a Marriott property ever again. My partner and I had arranged to stay at the "pet friendly" MC Hotel from Friday May 29 through Sunday, May 31. We brought our senior cat with us because the hotel claimed to be pet friendly and we are planning to be in the New York metro region for over a week. Upon checking into our room, we were notified that cats are not allowed on property and that "pet friendly" actually means dogs only. We had to scramble to figure out where we could take our quiet, well-behaved 16-year-old cat because we were being kicked out of the hotel after being allowed up to our room—all against the soundscape of other guests' dogs yapping in the rooms surrounding ours. Meanwhile, my partner was part of a wedding party that was staying at the MC Hotel and was running late for his cousin's wedding rehearsal in Newark. All of this distress came from the hotel staff's failure to take accountability for and honor the vague and misleading pet policy that they advertise on their website. I was especially struck by the front desk manager's condescending tone. When I told her that we had no idea that their pet policy only allowed dogs, she responded "oh, well, usually guests call and check to make sure." As frequent travelers, we have never had to do that at a hotel claiming to be pet friendly. While we received a refund for our stay, the immense inconvenience that the MC Hotel caused us and the unkind impression that your staff left on us will forever blemish our memory of this celebratory weekend with family.
Not pet friendly...only dogs allowed. You will not be able to stay with a cat. The website states pet friendly, and does not specify only dogs! If you have a cat, you will be asked to leave!!!
The staff is what made my stay exceptional! (The only reason I didn't give five stars is because it really isn't a five star property.) It all started with me meeting the valets who were super kind and accommodating. (Being me, I of course parked in the wrong place.) I entered reception and the woman who was there greeted me with a smile and was extremely helpful in getting oriented with the hotel and extending my stay. The entire reception staff was lovely and and immediately responded if I needed anything. Special thanks to manager Imasha. Peter at the breakfast restaurant was a joy to chat with in the morning. Very pleasant way to start the day and my breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious. The room was cozy and clean. The fitness center was also kept well and I enjoyed my morning workouts. I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you're in the area...enjoy the rooftop views of Manhattan. Again, thank you to everyone!
