Bar Buka is a lesbian bar on Albert Cuypstraat in De Pijp, opened in 2019 at a time when Amsterdam had almost no bars run for queer women. Queer women are its core crowd and everyone else is welcome. Cocktails are a focus, and the programme includes events such as quiz nights, DJ sets and screenings. On market days the terrace looks out over the Albert Cuyp stalls. Together with Saarein in the Jordaan, the older of the two, it is one of the main stops for queer women in the city. Trust the google reviews! Buka is a really great time, with great people, an overall great vibe, as well as has an owner who really cares about making sure that people are comfortable and connecting. I wish there was a bar like Buka where I live. Come support this place!!
