About this place Bar Buka

Bar Buka is a lesbian bar on Albert Cuypstraat in De Pijp, opened in 2019 at a time when Amsterdam had almost no bars run for queer women. Queer women are its core crowd and everyone else is welcome. Cocktails are a focus, and the programme includes events such as quiz nights, DJ sets and screenings. On market days the terrace looks out over the Albert Cuyp stalls. Together with Saarein in the Jordaan, the older of the two, it is one of the main stops for queer women in the city. Check the website for the week's events, as the bar fills quickly on event nights.
