About this place Spijkerbar

Spijkerbar (locals just say 'the Spijker') is a gay bar at the corner of Kerkstraat and Leidsestraat that has been open since the late 1970s. It has a pool table, cartoons and adult clips playing on the screens, and a mixed crowd of locals, expats and tourists. Early in the evening it feels like a neighbourhood pub, and it gets cruisier as the night goes on. It opens at 16:00 most days (19:00 on Tuesday, closed Monday) and stays open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays. The after-work hours are the easiest time to strike up a conversation. Club Church is a short walk along Kerkstraat if you want to keep going.

The bar was amazing. The drinks were great. The wannabe wedding singer Adam Sandler was less than friendly. He probably needs to work at taboo. Just saying.
