Hotel Freeland

Well located, in a quiet area with easy access to the city center, museums, etc. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a nice bathroom, a safe, and a hotel-style refrigerator. It's not suitable for people with difficulty climbing stairs, although many hotels in Amsterdam don't have elevators. Check-in was quick and easy. A great hotel to stay in Amsterdam! I definitely recommend it for people who don't need an elevator to go up at most four floors.

Booked through Booking.com for one night on Saturday. There was a huge difference compared to the reviews and description on Booking.com: The cleaning was poor (dust everywhere), the curtains were moldy, and the lack of space was almost illegal: there was no room outside the bed. There was also significant noise (earplugs wouldn't work for someone from the countryside, but they'd be fine for someone from the city) due to their own bar across the street. However, it was the cheapest hotel room I could find in Amsterdam (around €250) after the shared dormitories. Check-in was handled by a pleasant and professional hostess, and infused water was available at reception. There was also a coffee machine in the room.

The staff is very friendly.

Nice staff and cheap. Some rooms are better than others, ours was very tiny and you couldn’t even fit in the bathroom. Also, it was all the way at the top, so you had to climb some very scary stairs.

A seedy dive bar. Perfect for teenagers on a budget who want to party.

We stayed here with my husband in the second week of March 2026. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was kind and helpful. Upon request, we were given a room on the first floor. Cleanliness was five stars. Everything was easily accessible. We also received a welcome drink. We will definitely come back again.

It has everything you need for a few days' stay. It's true that there's a lot of street noise, but that's normal given its central location.
