Berg & Berg Hotel

The hotel's location is excellent, and it's a rather high-end hotel considering the price. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Parking is located at the back of the hotel, while there's short-term parking at the front, which certainly makes check-in and luggage collection easier. Check-in and check-out are done independently using a computer. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the single rooms aren't really recommended. They're a bit like an oversized storage closet, and you can barely turn around in the bathroom. The rooms are also rather noisy. The bed, however, is comfortable, and the toilet is even heated 😅. Everything is tidy and clean. The staff at breakfast weren't very friendly, and the eggs were cold. The location is quite good, and you have a great view while having breakfast. Check-in, including coordinating your own room key, is done independently.

Excellent room. The only downside is that it's across from a church whose bells ring every 15 minutes. There's also a brightly lit sign that makes it difficult to sleep at night. This is annoying considering it's a rural area with limited streetlights. The breakfast service is terrible; I recommend not ordering it. There's parking in the back, marked with orange lines. The parking in front is paid. It's well-located, with a supermarket next door for buying breakfast items.

Easy check-in via screen, very neat and clean room (standard suite) with everything provided, nice little kitchenette with a good fridge. Nice shower. They respond quickly to your questions. Supermarket and plenty of restaurants nearby/on the street. In short, a great stay.

If you want to spend the night in a storage room, you've come to the right place.

We stayed there in March and used the hotel as a base for skiing in Melchsee-Frutt. The drive to Stöckalp takes about 16 minutes. Free parking is available behind the hotel. We booked a standard suite, which was a perfect choice, although the lighting could be adjusted to 2700K to make it feel less cold. I highly recommend this hotel! Everything was very clean. The two rooms were very spacious. There was a living room with a sofa, dining table, and fully equipped kitchen, as well as a balcony. This was connected to the bedroom, which had a large box-spring bed. The bedroom also had a balcony with mountain views. Both balconies were accessible via a wall of windows spanning the entire width of the room. The stylish, open-plan bathroom was located in the bedroom. The toilet was smart and controlled by remote, offering everything from a heated toilet seat to a bidet with a hairdryer. We had booked breakfast as well. If you managed to snag one of the two tables by the window, you had a good seat. Otherwise, the breakfast room was more like a basement. The buffet was simple but adequate. The buffet was constantly replenished, but there weren't many guests either. We had completed the often-criticized online check-in beforehand, and we were able to unlock the suite with our phones without any problems. It was actually great, and we didn't have to wait at reception. All in all, an excellent choice if you want to ski in Melchtal.
