Brighton Pride ist die größte Pride-Veranstaltung außerhalb Londons und zieht am ersten Augustwochenende rund 500.000 Menschen in die Stadt. Zentrum ist der Preston Park — ein großer städtischer Park nördlich der Innenstadt —, der die Hauptbühne mit den großen Headlinern beherbergt. Frühere Headliner waren unter anderem Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Paloma Faith, Years & Years und Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Die Pride Parade zieht am Samstagmorgen vor dem Hauptfestival durch das Stadtzentrum, mit Tausenden Teilnehmern aus lokalen Gruppen, Unternehmen und Organisationen. Die Community Parade am Freitag ist eine bodenständigere, weniger kommerzielle Veranstaltung. Die ganze Stadt feiert das gesamte erste Augustwochenende: Bars und Clubs in Kemptown haben verlängerte Öffnungszeiten und Sonderprogramme, die Strandpromenade ist bis spät belebt, und Brighton verwandelt sich für 48 Stunden in eines der dichtesten LGBTQ+-Umfelder der Welt. Die ganzjährige LGBTQ+-Bevölkerung der Stadt (geschätzt 10–15 % der Einwohner) verleiht Brighton Pride eine Community-Authentizität, die es von rein touristischen Events unterscheidet. Unterkunft 6 Monate oder mehr im Voraus buchen — Brighton hat begrenzte Hotelkapazitäten, und die Stadt ist am Pride-Wochenende tatsächlich ausgebucht.
