Leonardo Hotel Cardiff

We recently stayed at the Leonardo Hotel Cardiff in a Superior King Room and had a fantastic experience overall. The room was absolutely amazing. The king-size bed was huge, incredibly comfortable, and one of the best hotel beds we've slept in. The shower was outstanding too – powerful, modern, and a real highlight of our stay. What really made the visit special was the staff. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and their excellent customer service made us feel valued throughout our stay. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a great location, making it an excellent base for exploring Cardiff. There were a couple of minor issues. The TV only offered standard terrestrial channels, with no access to Netflix, streaming services, or catch-up TV. The toilet also didn't flush particularly well, often requiring several flushes before toilet paper cleared properly. Breakfast was the only area that was slightly disappointing. When we arrived, there was no bacon or fried eggs available, and the selection felt a little limited. However, the yoghurt was excellent and very enjoyable. Despite these small issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The outstanding staff, amazing shower, and incredibly comfortable bed more than made up for the minor shortcomings. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cardiff.

Attended a meeting. Cannot comment on rooms. The meeting facilites and service were excellent. The location was very central, within walking distance of train station. However parking is limited and expensive

Overall, this is a good hotel with a great location and friendly restaurant and bar staff. What really let the hotel down was the fact that the air conditioning units in both my room and another family member’s room were faulty. We stayed during the May heatwave, and the units continuously blew warm air at around 24°C. No matter how often we adjusted the settings, they would automatically reset to heating, making for a very uncomfortable and sleepless night, especially as the windows could not be opened. We reported the issue to management, who assured us it would be resolved, but the same problem persisted the following night. When we checked out, we raised the issue again with the receptionist, who did not seem particularly concerned and did not offer any apology or explanation. Unfortunately, the excessive heat in the rooms left both my mother and me feeling unwell during and after our stay, including sinus irritation and other symptoms. While we cannot say for certain that the faulty air conditioning was the sole cause, the conditions certainly did not help and significantly affected our overall experience.

High quality room, good breakfast and right in the city centre. My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a great room. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Ideal ,central location,especially if the New Theatre is on your agenda. Plenty of choices locally to eat and drink if you want a change. However the hotel bar is comfortable with plenty of choices for food too,and no restrictions as to where you sit to eat.

This Hotel goes above and beyond, Staff are fantastic, Right in the centre of town, Room was exceptional, Breakfast was exceptional, extremely attentive staff Highly recommend
