South London: nearest tube is Balham. Make your way to the area north of Bedford Hill and west of the railway cutting. This area is extremely busy late in the evening and especially during the summer months.

Tooting Bec Common is a delightful spot for dog owners, offering expansive green spaces where pets can enjoy a good run and even a splash in the pond during warmer months. The area is well-appreciated for its picturesque settings and community vibe, hosting various events that bring people together. It's important to keep your dog on a leash in certain areas and clean up after them to maintain the beauty and usability of the common for everyone The pond itself, while popular among anglers for fishing, also allows dogs, making it a versatile spot for both relaxation and active fun. Just be sure to keep an eye on your dog, especially since the area can get busy and you'd want to avoid any disruptions for other visitors For an ideal visit, bring water for both yourself and your pet, and maybe some waste bags to keep the area clean. Exploring different parts of the common can make for a fulfilling day out, especially if you enjoy seeing your dog interact with nature and other dogs [oai_citation:3,Tooting Bec Common: A Pawsome Playground for Pups and People -
Great park in Tooting. It's well maintained and has many amenities including children playgrounds, paved paths for cycling, running and walking as well as several paths that are not for cyclists, only pedestrians. There are tennis courts and a pond full of waterfowl. Also on the North end is a small cafe where you can get coffee and other treats. Lots of treed areas and paths to explore and plenty of open green spaces. It does get quite busy on the weekend, but overall a pleasant place to spend time.
Really fantastic Common, lots of places to picnic, largest Lido in Europe, fenced in running track with seating for spectators and Gym, a lake with wild foul and Terrapins, tennis courts, 2 children's playgrounds and woodland walks. Go down and take a walk around, there are loads of different sections, make sure you visit them all. If you like this review, can you please click the like symbol below. Thank you!
I quite like this common. There are tennis courts, a gym with an athletic running track, an outdoor swimming pool (one of my friends uses it), a cafe, a children’s play area and a pond. There’s also a small free car park (beware- it’s usually full). One of my favourite things is the green parakeets who fly about. Yes they are still flying about in December!!! I have walked on this common for years. If you have a dog, enjoy but beware some dogs are not friendly (my poodle was attacked more than once). However, the majority are lovely. A military fitness group uses the common as do a lot of personal trainers so it’s quite good fun to see them when running. In the summer there’s an ice cream van by the car park. The common is quite large and at one end extends to Balham.
Tooting Bec Common is such a wonderful place to walk or bike during spring. The woods are filled with trees in blossom and beautiful soft green leaves. I paricularly loved seeing the red chestnuts in flower. Great mixture of open space, woodland paths and an adventure playground to boot.
