Tooting Bec Common is one of my favourite green spaces in South London. The common is large, well-maintained, and offers plenty of open space for walking, running, picnics, and relaxing. There are beautiful tree-lined paths, sports facilities, and a friendly atmosphere that makes it enjoyable for both individuals and families. One of the highlights is the sense of space and nature despite being in a busy part of London. The common is especially lovely during sunny days, with plenty of areas to sit and unwind. It's also great for dog walkers and anyone looking to escape the city for a few hours. Overall, Tooting Bec Common is a fantastic local park that combines natural beauty, recreational facilities, and a welcoming community feel. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful outdoor spot in London.

There are no toilets on the side of cavendish Road. There is only one coffee shop and that is way across the other side of Bedford Hill, which would entail crossing a major road! Therefore there is no even balance!!!!

Went to Tooting Common parkrun. 3 laps of the common! Looks like a nice place for a stroll, to walk a dog, to take children to the play area, and when the weather is warmer, enjoy a picnic. Small lake in the middle. Tennis courts available for hire. Free parking just off Dr Johnson Avenue. The Common does get busy though. More than 700 people turned up for parkrun. Traffic in the area can be heavy due to 20 MPH speed restriction and road works.

We love the open space and easy walking in Tooting Common. It is a wonderful green space in London and it is well used by runners, walkers and families enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Each Saturday Tooting Common parkrun is held at 9am. It is a popular event, which is well run. Another great free community event in the area.

We enjoyed exploring Tooting Common over two weeks when we were visiting London. There are numerous shared paths for walkers, runners and cyclists. The Lido Swimming Pool is within the area and is a good diversion. There are other facilities in the common including cafes and public halls. The common has well established trees and lawned sections. A great place to simply relax or enjoy a picnic.

I went here with a friend for a walk. I have only ever driven around it before. It is very unexpected, bigger than I thought. It has a lake, cafe, large grounds that are very well maintained. It was very tidy, with no litter and did not feel crowded at all. There is a children’s play area near the lake. I will definitely be bringing the kids here.

I have been visiting the common for years, not that I live near there, but my family do. It’s a great green space covering a large area. There are tarmac paths and soft trails to chose from. Great for dog walking, children etc. There is a fantastic lido near to the railway. There is also a great cafe where one can get hot drinks, cakes and hot food too. Tables set both outside and inside the cafe. There is a toilet at the cafe too. In the winter months there are areas of the common which can become very wet, soggy and muddy but there are ways around these areas. In the summer it’s a great place for a picnic. Lots of trees around the common. There are also some tennis courts.

Tooting Common is a very special place. Acres of grass, woodland and lakes, with a range of sporting facilities as well There is a delightful Italian cafe as well. The whole area is lovely for a walk, or just to get some fresh air. Must visit.
