Coach & Horses (Hôtel)

We stayed at the Coach and Horses to visit Kew Gardens during the recent heat wave. The hotel exceeded our expectations, from check in to departure all the staff looked like they enjoyed their work. An email about parking was answered very promptly. The air conditioning in both the room and public areas was very welcome. Breakfast was tasty and we enjoyed two meals in the evenings - thank you Mandy for looking after us. Two of the Kew entrances are within easy walking distance. We used the bus (2 stops) to get to the Victoria Gate - thus reduced the walk to almost nothing. We will certainly be visiting again and trying out other hotels in this small chain.

We really enjoyed our stay. The welcome from the front of house couldn't have been friendlier and more accomodating. Looking at the other glowing reviews, her name is Alicja but I think I called her Maricia, I'm so sorry! She was so so sweet and bubbly and friendly and showered my baby girl with attention. We phoned ahead and a parking space was reserved for me as I am a blue badge holder-this is worth knowing in advance. We were assisted with our bags from the car and were made to feel right at home. The location of the hotel is 5 stars. Right on the pretty Kew Green and less than 10 minutes walk to the Victoria Gate entrance to Kew Gardens. The room was ground floor, down a lovely botanical wallpapered corridor and away from the busy bar and restaurant. The bed was made beautifully, and was huge and very comfortable. The room was clean and very spacious. There were a couple of minor issues such as the kettle leaked everywhere and the plug got stuck in the bathroom sink. We had requested a cot for our baby and knew to bring bedding but it was extremely hard, almost like a sheet of cardboard- (I believe that insurance would say that if providing a sleeping space for a baby it must be a very firm, flat surface in line with safe sleep guidance, and must be the base that came with the travel cot-it can't be changed or added to). The room was quiet and peaceful and we all slept well. There was a well stocked mini bar. There were complimentary coffee pods and a coffee machine to use them in. We ordered breakfast and it was really delicious. We both really enjoyed our meals and the coffee was good too. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area!

We love this place and how at home and looked after they make us feel. We love Alicia nearly as much as she loves our dog! Great food and easy going vibe. If could add one thing it would be a magnifying mirror but happy to pack my own.

Though it is a bit of a walk from the tube, the location is great for grabbing a bus or walking to the kew gardens. We typically stay in the center of London but this time we wanted something a bit quieter. This location was perfect! The food was great and service was outstanding. We stay in around 4-6 inns when we travel around England and this is by far our favorite of the trip. Luke (assistant manager) was so kind, helpful and thoughtful. And seemed to be everywhere all at once! That guy deserves a raise for all that he does. Looking forward to staying there again and trying out the other locations they have.

Coach & Horses was an absolute vibe in the best possible way - charming, cozy, welcoming, and full of personality. But what truly made my stay unforgettable was the incredible hospitality from Alicja at reception. She was one of the warmest and kindest people I met during my trip to London. I mentioned that it was my birthday during my stay, and she went out of her way to make it special, even slipping a birthday card under my door and later sending such a sweet goodbye message with my folio. Those small, thoughtful gestures made such a lasting impression. The whole stay felt personal and genuinely heartfelt. I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here overnight because we went to visit Kew Gardens. Location is perfect! Just 5 minutes away from the Elizabeth gate. Rooms are clean and cosy, and offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks (to be payed). Unfortunately, our experience with the pub was not as great. The service was slow and inattentive. Food was ok; we had the masala fish and the fish and chips (salad instead of chips). Also they did't have any sticky toffee pudding left :(

We loved our stay at the coach and horses. We arrived, dirty and tired from a walking holiday in the Cotswolds, and when we checked in and inquired about the nearest , Alicia jumped right in and said bring me your clothes and we will will wash them so you can enjoy London! It was so kind and lovely that it made our whole stay perfection. We sat down for a late lunch in the pub and had great food!

A wonderful place, with a long working day, which is great for serving customers and other visitors. visitors. The restaurant is wonderful with booths and outdoor tables. There is enough service staff who are very polite and kind, but there is also a self-service sector. A wide selection of fresh delicious food and drinks. The drink is always cold enough or really hot. The toilets are clean and comfortable. Every visit here is a pleasure! Thank you very much!

We have been here before and always very much enjoy our stay. This time we were really grateful for the care and attention shown to us by the friendly staff as we both came down with heavy colds. A particular thank you to Alija for supplying us with honey, ginger and lemon for hot drinks to help us recover! She went beyond the call of duty to make us feel at home. It was much appreciated & we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

We loved our stay at Coach & Horses! The rooms are a little outdated but clean and comfortable. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Alicia, at the front desk, treated guests like family. She was so happy to see us when we returned safely from a day trip. The restaurant and bar were great, outside eating area really nice. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the train station. There are several other good restaurants and stores close by.
