Belmond Hotel Monasterio

An incredible experience! I can't say enough about our stay. The hospitality and friendliness of the people at Monasterio is unequaled! The location and facilities are tremendous. We wanted for nothing! The facility is an amazing restoration of a monastery that has been done to create comfort while not damaging the history of the building. Well done. I cannot recommend a stay here with enough stars. Thanks you so much for making our stay in Cusco one we'll remember for a lifetime!

Gorgeous Architecture, Pretentious Service—The building itself is a breathtaking piece of history, but unfortunately, it is seriously mismanaged by Belmond. The hospitality falls completely flat, starting with a pretentious greeting from the front door staff. We live in Asia and are accustomed to true 5-star hospitality; this does not even come close.To make matters worse, the tea was served in ugly ceramic cups rather than fine porcelain, which you would expect at this price point. I am incredibly glad we only stopped by for drinks and booked our actual stay at one of the other beautiful hotels on Plaza Nazarenas. Save your money and go elsewhere for service that matches the scenery.

My wife and I stayed at Monasterio in November 2024 before and after completing the Inca Trail, and it remains one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Since then, we’ve travelled extensively and stayed in many other hotels, but to this day we still talk about our time at Monasterio. The service was impeccable, the grounds and rooms were immaculate, and it truly set the gold standard for what a five-star hotel should be. What really stood out were the little things like staff bringing a blanket for my wife without even being asked while she was sitting and reading in the courtyard. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the staff were incredibly accommodating if you wanted a particular fruit or dish. We also appreciated the thoughtful gesture of a parting gift when we departed. Absolute worth every penny, we talk about it to this day.

Located walking distance to main square with loads of shops and restaurants along the way, building itself is the experience!
