Austin Motel

The Location is great but the price for what you get is ridiculous. You can’t close the bathroom door unless you smoosh yourself against the bathtub which is a few inches away. The carpets have a strange smell but maybe it’s just the room in general. The AC blows directly on you and you can’t change the vents. The blankets are just canvas sheets. Not retro just warn down. Didn’t like paying $300 usd a night for this.

Perfect location on Congress. Super fun and quirky vibe. Room was damp and somewhat musty- so just be aware if you have sinus or lung issues.

Thin walls, thin door, easily hear noise. Front desk service was great. View was good. There is an early checkout penalty which is dumb. NO gym. NOT a good hotel for business travel. Good I suppose for regular tourism.

The people who run the motel are top notch. They do a lot to keep you comfortable with sevice and amenities. It has a cool old school vibe. There is a bar in the courtyard, a heated pool, and a fantastic dinner connected to it. I will definitely be back.

The Austin Motel is a very fun stay. Located right in the middle of all the action, it’s a fun idea: an old motel converted into a nice hotel. We stayed in a king suite overlooking the pool. Not too much to look at, but is a nice room. Check-in was easy and the person who checked us in was very helpful. The room itself is somewhat basic, with a lot of fun design details that harken back to its old motel roots. The pool is heated and beautiful. There was also a party one day that was a lot of fun with drag queens singing and dancing. Comfortable bed, big bathroom and everything we needed was there. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I love this hotel. The atmosphere is very vintage. The people who work here and the lobby cat make it the wonderful place it is.

Only the location is worth anything. These are some of the oldest most run down rooms I have seen. Somehow they have caught the interest of the kitch crowd. Also no security cameras, truck was damaged in their parking lot after another vehicles alarm was going off at 3am and their "security team" showed up. Hyatt refused to do anything. Much nicer rooms just across the river at the same price.

Cute quirky hotel in an amazing location..with FREE parking! Location is worth it! Great price. Downside is no iron in the room or microwave. A microwave is a must for us but we survived. The front desk heated up our food for us. If you like different and unique, this is the place for you!
