Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA Journey

Pleasant atmosphere inside KOA campground. There is a cute dog park. About a 7 minute drive off Interstate 25. Surrounding neighborhood reflects people struggling economically.

Nice campground! We were in and out so didn't meet the staff are visit the store.

Very rude staff. Im on the road traveling. I booked a week stay here. I was checking out the facility & a staff member walked by me. Instead of speaking to me (like a human) she jumps on her radio and starts talking about me like I’m an intruder. Learn how to treat your guests better. I’ll be staying elsewhere since you made me feel unwelcome.

This is a KOA. Well laid out and very clean. Excellent customer service. Close to Albuquerque action.

Albuquerque North/Bernalillo KOA TERRIBLE! I called because a lot of reviews said lots were very close. I wouldn’t come if they are not BIG RIG Capable. I was ‘told” over the phone no problem and I could get RV Site P31. I put it in my iCal and expected that lot. Upon arrival, we were given another “tight” space that I couldn’t get my slides out. (Note: the desk said P31 was occupied…not true). After trying the other tight spot, the desk said “oh, P31 is available as they left early) We set up on P31 and proceeded to walk the dogs…both Service Certified for me and my wife who are Disabled Veterans…32 years service EACH. The walk route we took showed NO “No Pet” Signs. There was a small patch of grass they urinated on. Immediately a worker, Andrew, came over to tell us no pets there. My wife and I apologized but he continued to berate us for allowing our Labs on the grass. It seemed he didn’t accept our apology. I raised my voice at him and said, “OK, WE GOT IT!” He said he was the Manager Angie, another Manager, told me no need to yell. I walked away saying this KOA is getting a Bad Rating. Andrew yelled that he’s giving me a bad rating. Then, later without any communication, we were charged another $25 for a site selection fee. Note: we NEVER “selected” a site and were only told a site. Both my wife and I went into the desk and spoke to Angie. She stated they NEVER give out spaces ahead of time. (So I guess I was lying about speaking to someone over the phone?) From checking to getting to a site to poor customer service to berating a Combat Disabled Veteran and making my Service Dog unwelcome, this Koa failed in EVERY aspect of hospitality.

Worked out for our one night stay to drive back to Denver. Very nice and quiet. Will come back evety year.

Camping is a term that is ubiquitous with friendship and fellowship, that was not the reception we received. We arrived after a 250 mile drive and immediately took our English Lab for a potty break. I was watching for cars and rv’s while I took her to the grass. All of a sudden this man, 50 ft away, starts yelling at me to get off the grass. He is yelling at the top of his lungs being very insolent. He almost had me in tears with his berating. He’s yelling at me, 69 years old, to pick up my (114 lb) dog WHILE SHE IS PEEING &I said I can’t do that.He continued to yell at me about ‘the signs’. In the office the staff were apologizing for how the manager, Andrew Bazan, treated me. I told them we’ve been traveling all day, I did not have my contacts in and I did not see any signs but I was sorry. The staff said, it’s ok, they were appalled at the way he treated a customer, that customers should never be treated that way. They offered me a refund if we wanted to leave but I declined as we were tired and it was only a one night stay. We try to remain KOA loyal.since 2019 we have earned well over 423,000 points. We have MANY RV friends. We will NEVER stay at this KOA again and we will let our friends know about it as well. The office staff and others working there were doing their level best to diffuse the situation and make us feel welcome. They said KOA is supposed to be dog friendly but they were sorry that is not how we were treated. The pamphlet says ‘welcome’ but that is not what the manager did.

Friendly staff! on point with our site! We had a great experience here for our 2-day stay. Showers & bathrooms clean. Record high temps for February, crowded but in a good way. A+

Very nice clean campground. Near the highway but it is below the highway so not much noise at all. Right next to a quirky brewery that we really love. Our kind of spot!!

Good choice for an overnight stay.

The park itself is decent and the people are nice, all the amenities are in good working order, as far as we experienced. The only issue it that its not quiet at all. The bar, Kactus Brewing Company, which is right next door and even has gate to the KOA for campers and residents to pass through, plays loud music inside and outside so loud it can be heard in your trailer day and night. We experienced this until 2 or even 3 am during our stay multiple times. If we had known we certainly would not have chosen this park. We asked to move to the far side of the park which was far enough that we could no longer here the music.
