Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa

We stayed at Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa for 4 days, and it was a very disappointing experience for our family. There was no housekeeping during our entire stay—no room cleaning, no towel replacement, and no attention to basic room needs. Essential toiletries like body wash were not provided on time. When we requested it, we were told it would be sent, but it arrived only after about 2 hours, by which time we had already finished showering. The beds were also very uncomfortable and of poor quality. We all ended up with backaches and neck pain, which made the stay even more unpleasant and affected our rest throughout the trip. We also had a concerning experience related to my daughter’s sesame allergy. When I asked for a plain bagel for her, the staff initially refused. However, fresh bagels were put out shortly after, which felt upsetting given the situation. At checkout, the staff apologized and told us we would receive a refund due to the issues we faced. Unfortunately, that was later denied. Overall, we left feeling disappointed and unheard, as basic hospitality, comfort, and service expectations were not met during our stay.

A beautiful room experience with very helpful and friendly staff all around the property. The room and en suite bathroom were spacious and nicely decorated. The mattress was obviously older but still comfortable and clean, but the lamps on both sides of the bed were unplugged and I couldn't find the outlets to plug them back in. The hair dryer in the bathroom didn't heat well, and the bathtub railings were crusted with old buildup and need a little deep clean, but overall a nice stay.

Great room, great price, friendly service.

Upon entering the parking lot something felt strange: a feeling that did not abate throughout our stay. Many empty rooms, very large space, one gets the feeling something is going on behind the scenes; however, our stay was delightful. Room is charming and clean, well-heated, with a high-pressured shower. Breakfast was also wonderful, coffee was the best you can find in stowe, and hard boiled egg supply was bountiful. The gym was the most well-equipped gym I have ever seen in a hotel. If you value dicey, dilapidated, 90s east coast vibes paired with an unbeatable location at market price, this is the place for you.

A great experience for first timers here in Stowe, VT! Literally 10 minutes from Stowe Mountain, wonderful and exceptional staff that ask about your visit & make sure everything is up to par! We rented a motel room and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and amenities that were offered! Absolutely will be back!!

Stayed in early Feb, 2026 for four nights. Had an excellent stay. The room was very clean and quiet. Loved the fireplace in my room. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s in a great location and the price was great. To address other reviews- clearly this was once a grand hotel but it has aged. It seems like the staff are proud of what it once was and still could be and are trying their best with limited resources. If the ownership simply invested the care, money, and also invested in quality workmanship (not the lowest bidders with no experience) for needed updates, this could once again be one of the best of the east. I commend the employees for the dedication and care.

My partner and I were looking for a place late night that would accept dogs and Stoweflake delivered! The room was warm and clean when we got there, showers were hot and it’s right in the mix of town. Rick the night time desk manager was warm, welcoming and kind after our long journey and made sure we made it to our room. Would definitely stay again.
