Beatnix is unlike any store I have ever been in! Visiting Chicago for the first time from Charlotte, NC and prayed I could find a store that would carry a size 14 in women's heels. While visiting Boystown I thankfully walked in not knowing where I was, just drawn in from the decor and what selection I could see from outside. Zack was extremely helpful while juggling his other duties in the store, I think he may have been a manager, he was able to answer my rapid fire questions about his inventory and selection of shoes with impressive accuracy. Also showing me other options he had in the style I was looking. If I could have I would have left with 5 pair easily. As a plus size trans feminine individual i have trouble finding fun or fancy clothes. Zack searched the store for some options for me to try. I fell in love with one of the items he pulled, a lovely nude and black lace gown! The selection of makeup by Ben Nye is another amazing feature at this store. I was able to pick up colors I haven't been able to find in years. There was even a clearance makeup section!!! I'm a Master hairstylist and makeup artist professionally and previous preformer I was delighted with the entire experience. Given there could have been a plus size specific section it was fun to see all the options they offered. Thank you Zack! If/ when I'm ever back in Chicago, Beatnix will likely be the first and last place I visit!

Beatnix Chicago is a place where you can find a little bit of everything and what you need for every occasion. In addition to friendly and helpful staff, there's also space available for vintage items. Visit us and enjoy your stay!

My go-to spot for costumes and accessories. Fun store to check out, even if just passing through. This place has a huge variety of clothes and accessories (and more). While sometimes the quality may be… questionable, the price matches will match the cost and it’s quite reasonable. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing selection and quality, Beatnix has everything you need for any costume you can dream of - plus a great vintage selection in the basement which is clean and well organized! I love vintage shopping, but some stores have a vintage smell - not a major issue - however I’m happy to report Beatnix does not! Selection is really well curated and organized. Thoughtful and friendly staff are helpful if you need direction. Found the perfect accessories for last minute Halloween costumes (Crown for Carrie and shirt and jacket for Billy from Hocus Pocus!) Think the costumes speak for themselves.
