Coral Reef Suites
Visitors appreciate the great location, with some finding it a good value for the Bay Area and noting quiet stays. However, many complain about the dated and dirty rooms, with issues like musty smells, old furniture, and questionable cleanliness being frequently mentioned.

The reviews do not do this place justice. Roberto at the front was amazing, and took care of us dispite a late arrival due to a rental car failure. We ended up arriving two days later and the staff and team ensured we had a beautiful room and even assisted us with accommodation for the missed prior days. This is my new spot and I am so happy we found Coral Reef Suites. Will Parker - Wilmington, NC
This hotel is an absolute disgrace.... Unfortunately, the reception was closed when we arrived in the evening. However, there was a sign on the door indicating the room and where to find the key. Upon entering the room, we discovered it wasn't the category we had booked. We had booked a two-bedroom suite, but the room was a duplex apartment with only one bedroom. We tried to contact them using the provided number, but unfortunately, neither text nor phone calls worked. So, we had to make do with it for the night. This hotel has absolutely no standards whatsoever... practically everything was falling apart. All the cupboards were broken, there was hair on the floor, and clothes were left in the cupboards in front of other guests. The shower looked extremely unsafe, so we decided it was best not to use it at all. Everything is dilapidated and broken... nothing here looks anything like the glossy photos on the website! When we thankfully left the next morning, we went to reception several times to try and resolve the problem, but again, no one was available; the desk was constantly unattended! A complaint was filed through the travel agency, however the hotel claims the booked room meets the standard and category, which is simply not true. I have never seen such a bad hotel and would not recommend anyone stay there!
UPDATE 6/1/26: After being told by Expedia that they would do what they can to issue me a refund, they were not able to because the hotel was unresponsive/never got back to them. Once I disputed it with my bank, my bank is now saying that they cannot approve the dispute because the hotel is saying I never checked out... I finally got a hold of someone at the hotel and voiced my concerns, and they advised to reach out via email and they would address the situation. I haven't received a response from the hotel at all. So, now I have to pay back $700 if my bank does not approve the second dispute. I already had to pay for a whole other hotel, so now I'm paying for a hotel we didn't even stay in! Original post: ROACHES AND COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. The only positive thing about these rooms is the size of the rooms and location to the beach. Upon checking in, the entrance was nowhere to be found and you have to keep walking around until you find the lobby, which is a room turned into a lobby. The person working at the front was nice enough, and stated that there was a $20 fee per day for "wifi and beach access". The room was left open and the key was in the room, which is extremely unsafe and there's no safety measures here to make sure no one goes in your room before you check in. Upon checkin, we noticed a baby bug that we immediately killed. Later on, we saw more bugs that we found out were roaches by a Google search. At that time, we went to the front desk to check out, and no one was there (someone is supposed to be there until 10pm, it was 7pm). The phone number that is supposed to be the emergency number wasn't answered. I called Expedia to request a full refund and they are still working on it a week later because the hotel won't pick up. I've called the hotel multiple times since we checked out to ask them to respond to Expedia and refund the $80 wifi and beach access fee, no response. The room was also dirty and the wifi didnt work. The reviews on here that are positive, Im convinced are fake.
We got to the suites and there were no clear markings of where to get to the front desk. The front office guy was rude. The bed i slept in was nasty i woke up just to pull up the blanket and see dried up blood. There was dirt everywhere on the floor.
HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, UGLY...NOTHING WORKED, YOU DON'T SLEEP WELL, THE WORST IN THE AREA......IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THE PICTURES....
Units are old that need to be remodeled Pictures are very misleading.
