We booked a loft and was provided a room downstairs instead that’s not a loft. We tried to call for days and text before arriving to confirm some stuff and never got a response. We arrived late to our room and realized we was not given the loft we booked and office was closed was unable to get any assistance. We luckily found a paper on the door with our name and we figured we’d try to open it and it was left unlocked so that was nice. Room seemed very well decorated floor we had a table and desk to work at if need. was a bit beat up shower pressure was horrible and water didn’t get hot but was warm enough to be okay. We got the loft because it said came with a pull out bed as well ours did not so our quest had to sleep on a couch but was very comfortable just not a lot of room if u like to stretch out when you sleep ! Wasn’t provided but one toilet paper roll for the 3 nights we was staying & didn’t last long for 3 people but office gave us another roll when we asked. No paper towels but no biggie we went to get some. The kitchen didn’t have a microwave and bring a hotel it’s nice to have one to heat up left overs quickly while on vacation but a stove is present. Full size fridge. The room we stayed at the bed is very firm but very clean. Lots of space to sit stuff down on and a blow dryer in bathroom. Ac was super nice room stayed cold which was a plus. Very quiet at night. Nice pool area super clean and resort feeling. Other then not getting the room we wanted and water pressure we had no issues. Did not see any bugs during our stay. Cops are always around the neighborhood so must be a why it’s super calm and quiet around it’s peace of mind as well. If office would have answered phone or text back would have gave more stars but for the price it’s not a bad place and super clean !

We checked into our 2 bedroom suite that we paid for, up front, 4 months earlier only to be put into a 1 bedroom loft for a mom and two large teenage boys. The loft is upstairs and has a queen bed. I booked two bedrooms for a reason. I got no sleep being kicked by a teenager. The only thing they offered us as compensation was a full discount so we could go elsewhere. Where else could we go in Miami during spring break? The only thing available is the Ritz for $10,000 next-door. While we were out they came in and put a massive queen sized air mattress in the middle of our living/dining space. Did not solve the problem that we paid for two bedrooms and got one. Their great solution only made our room uglier and more cluttered. They act like I’m crazy for being upset that I was sold two bedrooms, paid for them, and only got one. I expect bare bones from this place. I have been here before. But I expect to get what I paid for. This was a switcheroo. They claimed that the system changed my booking to a loft with one bedroom. It’s impossible to believe that the system did that all on its own. They didn’t like that they had sold us a room at the price I paid during Black Friday when I planned this. They decided to sell our room to someone else at a higher price and downgrade us. Totally dishonest. Everyone I talked to said that they needed to ask someone else, check with someone else, they didn’t know, weren’t in charge etc… This is my 3rd visit here and it will be my last. Don’t take a chance. You might not get the deal you paid for.

Very dirty room charged resort fee on top of that. Check in and check out is hard. Host did not repsond to texts and calls. Also room has no toiletries and is run down. Photos are not of the same room and appear photoshopped

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Coral Reef of Key Biscayne and canceled my stay the same day due to the condition of the unit. From the moment I walked in, it was clear the space was not properly cleaned or maintained. The bedding had visible stains and discoloration, the furniture was worn, damaged, and visibly soiled, and the bathroom did not appear properly cleaned. There were signs of neglect throughout... dust buildup, marked surfaces, and broken or poorly maintained fixtures. This wasn’t one issue... it was the overall condition of the entire unit. It did not feel like a properly maintained hotel room or a space prepared for paying guests. What’s most concerning is how different this is from how the property is presented online. The listing is misleading and does not reflect reality. It comes across as a tourist trap—focused on attracting bookings without delivering even basic standards of cleanliness or quality. I documented everything and will be reporting this experience. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here until significant improvements are made.

Based on the reviews, I was very nervous that this would be a negative experience. The rooms are clean and simplistic. The grounds are well enough kept. The location is very good. This is a limited to no service hotel but the cost is comparably low. My overall experience was positive for what I was seeking - a place to sleep that is clean and inexpensive.

As several reviews have stated, the suites are tired and run down apartments. Room was full of bees. No help from staff. Bathrooms barely work & TV's don't work. Discovered after leaving Florida they charged us for 2 rooms. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment, but was charged for 2 apartments. Office staff are never available while there. They never told us about a second room at check-in. Impossible to contact the hotel by phone or email to resolve by their design. Don't give them a credit card!

DO NOT STAY HERE!. Hopefully you read this before you book. Worst booking experience I've had. Dirty, broken down, smelly, and uncomfortable. Never was able to reach the management before the stay to confirm. Broken TV, Dishwasher leaking, blinds broken, very uncomfortable beds. All I can think is they survive by unsuspecting victims that don't have the time or money to evacuate. Do yourself a favor....avoid!

The hotel was great if you can overlook some problems. As is evident in the reviews I have read, the hotel is not to the taste of everyone, because it is in need of renovation and better maintenance. I could give several examples of things that made it feel a little run-down, but for my personal taste these minor irritations were not nearly as important as the positive aspects. We had a room with a sleeping loft which ends up providing a great deal of space, and a high ceiling with two-story-high windows adds to the feeling of spaciousness that you do not normally get in a hotel room. In my opinion this made our room much more enjoyable than a nearby hotel (where my son was staying) that had better maintenance, and was considerably more expensive. Also important is the good beach access of Coral Reef (a 5 minute walk). The management was helpful as well, and I would definitely stay again. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with reserving the room. I did not see a confirming email (it went to my spam folder) so I tried to contact the hotel which does not answer their phone much and then I accidentally got sidetracked to Reservations.com that looks on the web as though it is the same thing. As has been noted by others who have had difficulties, Reservations.com represents itself in a misleading manner such that you are led to believe that they are either the hotel or a reliable agent of the hotel. I called them to find out why I did not get a confirmation email, and they said that I did not have a reservation on record. So I panicked and let them re-book me (non-refundable) at a cost $500 above my booking done a day earlier! And of course this reservation was non-refundable so I was stuck with it after I discovered that I really did have a previous reservation. Sure I am just the usual senior citizen getting suckered in, and the mix-up was partly my fault, but I am not alone: I would suggest that you check out what the Better Business Bureau or Reddit posts have to say about Reservations.com. There are plenty of complaints that use much stronger language than I will use here. Coral Reef would be much better off if the didn’t have Reservations.com skimming off a lot of money beyond the price of the hotel.

We booked a place here months in advance. The man at the reception desk told us that he didn’t have our reservation even though it charged us and we had a confirmation. This place is one to avoid at all costs

Booked through a thirty part and arrived, the hotel did not have our reservation. Our friends also booked through a third party and this property also did not have their reservation. This property was zero help and did not offer any assistance. Beware before booking!
