The service was absolutely incompetent. I called room service to order ice, and it took two hours to arrive. I called several times to follow up, and they kept saying it would be right away. Finally, I lost my temper and went downstairs to the front desk to ask for ice again. They still said it would be right away, but it never arrived all night. The room service was absurdly bad. They took a $2,500 deposit, and then inexplicably deducted $2,000 from my account. It's outrageous!

We will NEVER stay at this hotel again! Pool bar workers charged my wife & I for food-drinks we DID NOT order. It’s like they are pushing fraudulent charges to customers because they are shutting the W name down soon & do not care about existing Marriott members!!! Platinum mind you!!!

It seems like you rarely get what you pay for in Miami, and this hotel was no exception. We arrived expecting one of the city's top hotels, only to face major check-in issues—reception claimed our reservation for three was for a single bed and tried to charge extra for an additional one. Once resolved, the room turned out to be just fine, nothing exceptional. Breakfast was à la carte, which felt disappointing compared to European standards, and the food itself was completely average. Overall, it's severely overpriced, and the service fell far short of expectations.

First part of the stay was great. Until we had to call for a noise complaint multiple times and was told the GM gave his friends special permission to party on the balcony until 1am. Which is right outside our room and keeping us up. Multiple other people have complained. But I guess that doesn’t matter if you know the GM. The people also have a megaphone they’re using. And since they’re closing in a week I doubt they care about keeping their clients happy.

STAY AWAY FROM THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL TRAUMATIZING STAFF IN SOUTH BEACH I have been traveling with Marriott for approximately 15 years and am a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member. I have never experienced anything like what happened at W South Beach today. I arrived with four bags and received barely any assistance. At check-in, I politely asked whether a suite upgrade was available with my Platinum Elite status. I was told there were no suites available, despite multiple suites showing online for purchase that same night. When I showed this to the front desk and asked why they were available to purchase but not as an upgrade, I was simply told I could pay for one or take the room I had. I understand upgrades are subject to availability. I could have accepted “no.” What happened afterward is the reason for this review. I asked to speak with a manager for clarification. A manager who identified herself as Danielle came out and was immediately dismissive and condescending. When I asked why she was being rude to me, she accused me of being rude and then suddenly claimed my “body language” was threatening and said she was calling security. I had not moved toward her or threatened her in any way. I repeatedly asked for her full name, business card, email, or any identifying information so I could properly escalate the situation. She refused every time, repeatedly saying that she “didn’t feel comfortable” providing her information and therefore didn’t have to. I cannot even independently verify that Danielle is her real name. She then told me security would “take over” and walked away. I have this entire interaction recorded on video. If she genuinely felt threatened or afraid of me, I find it very difficult to reconcile that with footage of her laughing in my face while I was visibly crying and distressed. I’m 118 pounds blonde and incapable of ever threatening or hurting someone she targeted me! The video speaks for itself. I also think that because my address was from Israel on my Bonvoy account, I had been previously living in Israel And forgot to update my new US address. She purposefully made it very difficult for me. Security then informed me that my reservation was being canceled and I had to leave the property immediately. I broke down crying. I was sick, exhausted, alone with four bags, and suddenly had to find another hotel and transportation at the last minute. I repeatedly asked to speak with a director, senior manager, or anyone above Danielle. I was refused and told I could only speak with the Director of Security. Even after throwing me out, no one would help me with my four bags despite my asking for assistance. This is not about a suite. It is about how a simple, polite question about an Elite benefit escalated into a manager labeling a guest “threatening,” refusing to identify herself, calling security, canceling a confirmed reservation, and ordering that guest off the property. After 15 years with Marriott, I have never felt so humiliated or disrespected at one of its properties. I have the interaction documented on video and will be formally escalating everything to Marriott corporate. I strongly recommend thinking twice before staying at W South Beach, particularly if you expect Marriott Bonvoy Elite status to mean you will be treated like a valued guest.
