Wasn’t above and beyond but the customer service was great
The hotel is nice, with friendly staff. It could use a little refresh but overall nice. Heated indoor pool, complimentary breakfast, restaurant attached, etc.
Clean room. Wifi doesn't work, cant even see it nevermind connect. Construction is going on and no one gave me the heads up. The train goes by about every 15 minutes. So loud! Won't be staying here again.
Small rooms you have to walk around the whole building to get to your room. They don't have access to make the walk short small t. V, no YouTube, no Wi-Fi apps and that's, it will not be back.
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step back in time without the need for a DeLorean, the Clarion in North Haven has you covered. Walking into the lobby, you get the sense that the décor hasn’t changed much since shoulder pads and perms were in style. The fixtures and furniture seem to be hanging on for dear life—like they know retirement is coming but just aren’t ready to let go yet. The rooms themselves are... fine. Not terrible, not great. Think “your aunt’s basement guest room”: clean enough, functional, but undeniably aged. The lighting fixtures give off a warm glow—mostly because they’ve been dim for decades. The bathroom fixtures deserve honorable mention, too: solid, reliable, but they look like they’ve seen more presidential administrations than most of us. On the plus side, the staff are pleasant and do their best to make you feel welcome. The beds are reasonably comfortable, and the location is convenient if you’re in the area for work or visiting Yale. Just don’t expect cutting-edge style or modern amenities—you won’t find a fancy rain showerhead or sleek USB charging station here. In short: the Clarion in North Haven isn’t a luxury stay, but it’s a serviceable, slightly quirky stopover. If you embrace its outdated charm with a sense of humor, you might even enjoy the time-capsule vibe. Rating: 3/5 stars — Old but serviceable, with a wink and a nod to the 1980s.
