The Country Club

Went to drag brunch and everything was so delicious! It’s hot and gets packed quickly but it was a great time!

I had only a few hours in NOLA begire I headed to Biloxi. The Country Club was the place for me. Weekday brunch menu, great bartender, DJ, beautiful atmosphere, the day pass is 👌. I loved it so much, I returned on my drive back to the airport. Spent the day bar side, had a great cuban sandwich, to die for fries, and good wine with a fantastic bartender. I will definitely be back!

The ambiance and architectural aesthetics are commendable. While the culinary offerings are satisfactory, my repeated visits to The Country Club's Drag Brunch over several years have highlighted certain areas for improvement. The host's delivery is notably repetitive, often echoing previous performances, and at times, his announcements are indistinct due to audibility issues, leading to a need for direct inquiry regarding performers' identities. This may stem from seating location or sound system limitations. Regarding the entertainment, the overall quality varies. While some performers are exceptional, demonstrating strong stage presence, audience engagement, and lyrical mastery--one particular artist stands out for her expressive, interactive style, energetic delivery, and impressive stage presence not to mention the huge lashes--others exhibit a less engaging performance. For instance, one seasoned performer occasionally appears disoriented and struggles with lyrics, she seems to be in great costumes but the skill is not where it should be. Additionally, some performers have been observed to primarily focus on collecting tips, walking around and just mouthing the words with one instance involving a performer placing her leg on a table, causing a shoe to hang over the table with food it. Conversely, a bearded queen consistently delivers an energetic and engaging performance, she is delightful to watch. There is also a performer who exhibits a somewhat abrasive demeanor, often interacting contentiously with the individual responsible for collecting tips and carrying a tablet. She snaps and points like he is making mistakes. Its quite awkward. The venue's climate control can be inconsistent at times, particularly during warmer months, leading to a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere. While hand fans are provided and contribute to the show's interactive elements, the current layout, which involves performers moving between rooms, results in periods of unentertained patrons while others are engaged. This creates a disparity in the audience experience, as excitement from other rooms is audible but not directly experienced. To enhance the overall experience, a consistent level of entertainment across all performers is crucial. Have an Emcee who is fun and doesn't hide in the back. He walks around and has a sign asking for tips, for what??? On one occasion, the quality of the drag brunch led to an early departure. There is a clear need for an emcee who is more interactive, engaging, and energetic and not a beggar. On a positive note, a previous visit included access to the pool facilities, which was a delightful experience. The establishment offers compelling amenities, yet there are discernible opportunities for refinement in several aspects. Despite these observations, the Drag Brunch is a popular and frequently sold-out event. I encourage attendance to experience the captivating performances of certain queens, while acknowledging that other segments of the show may present an opportunity for patrons to engage in conversation or utilize facilities. We anticipate that our next visit will feature an enhanced entertainment lineup, ensuring a fully engaging and exceptional drag experience.

Nice spot. I had the burger and tried the boudin boulettes, and both were solid. Service was friendly and attentive.

Best drag experience we’ve ever had and Aaron was such an attentive and amazing server!! The show was amazing and even with all the craziness he was so on top of everything!

experience started with an AI song? the drag brunch was lazy, expensive, and boring. the food was below average and the cocktails were poured out of a plastic tub. the whole thing was giving bachelorette republican vibes. lawerence was chill but don’t go if you’re cool.

The food/drinks, service, and atmosphere were perfect! My only complaint is when we came for Drag Brunch and the cast lacked any diversity.. Additionally, they didn't really do anything except walk around and hold out their hands for money. As a queer performer myself and drag fan, I don't get much entertainment out of people walking around with their makeup done just asking for $. One person danced for maybe 5 seconds of their act and a few others had good audience interaction, but that was it. I was really excited to see the diverse talent that NOLA has to offer, but unfortunately (at least this time) was not anything I'd make time for again. I'll definitely come back for the food though!
