Food was good but not $70 per person good. Service was incredibly slow, and the parking situation is atrocious.

The food at Sottise was genuinely delicious, and we really enjoyed our meal. However, I probably wouldn't recommend it for celebrating a special occasion. When I made our reservation, I noted that we were celebrating my 30th birthday because the reservation specifically asked. Unfortunately, it was never really acknowledged, which was disappointing since that was the whole reason we chose Sottise. I wasn't expecting free dessert or anything extravagant, just some recognition that we were celebrating. I reached out privately afterward to share this feedback but never received a response. I'd absolutely come back for the food, but I'd choose somewhere else for a birthday or anniversary. EDIT: The events manager sent me weird passive-aggressive emails after my review, so I'm dropping my rating. EDIT EDIT: To clarify, the person who eventually responded was the restaurant's operating manager. I initially reached out directly with my feedback on July 17 and received no response for a month. After I posted this review, I received a lengthy email addressing my review and disputing my account of the experience. I've included a screenshot for transparency. I was particularly surprised by the tone of the response, which characterized my review as "dishonest and misleading" because I did not mention that my $4 coffee was comped as a birthday gesture. My original review was 3 stars and included compliments about the food; my criticism was specifically about the lack of meaningful acknowledgment of my birthday and the overall service. I worked in fine dining for years, so I understand that restaurants have different policies around celebrations. I also understand that they may disagree with my expectations. I don't, however, think a polite customer feedback email warrants being characterized as dishonest. The response unfortunately reinforced my decision that Sottise is not somewhere I would choose to celebrate again.

Sottise has quickly become one of those rare restaurants that stays with you long after the meal ends. We were lucky enough to celebrate Bastille Day here in July, and months later I still find myself reminiscing about the evening - the food, the atmosphere, the hospitality, and how effortlessly special the entire experience felt. Director of Operations Matt Kelin went out of his way to make sure we were able to celebrate at Sottise, despite it being such a busy evening. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for every guest that I was able to witness are the kinds of leadership qualities that anyone can actually feel ripple throughout the restaurant. It's clear that the culture he's helped create carries through every member of the team as well. Our stellar server, Madison, was equally exceptional. She struck the perfect balance of being warm, knowledgeable, attentive and wonderfully intuitive. Every recommendation, timing of each course, and small notes of detail made us feel like we were the only table in the room. For dinner, we leaned into both their Bastille Day specials and signature menu, sharing the melon & guanciale, oysters on the half shell, tuna tartare, baked brie, and le grand loup de mer. Every dish was beautifully presented, thoroughly composed, and packed with flavor. Nothing short of 10/10. French cuisine can sometimes feel intimidating, but Sottise makes it all feel approachable while still delivering an elevated and individually curated dining experience. Lastly, beyond the food, the ambiance and design deserves it's own recognition as well. In a city with so many incredible restaurants, Sottise continues to stand apart because it excels at the things you can't always teach: genuine hospitality, consistency, and creating moments that guests remember long after they've gone home. I eagerly await the next chance I have to come back for more!

My husband raved about the beef bourgingnon. Melted in his mouth. The duck was a more done than I like it, but the flavor was great. We highly recommend having g dinner there.

We really loved Sottise! The food was exotic and beautiful. Atmosphere was cafe. Music was Quiet jazz and big band played via vinyl. It was casual chic.
