Moondance Ridge Inn

This is a beautiful guest house and the owner, Pablo is kind, decent person. I would love to give it a high rating, but the online listing is incorrect. First, the Moondance Ridge B&B is NOT a B&B. It used to be a B&B under the prior owner but is now being run as a Guest House that offers a continental breakfast. The only food upgrade is good coffee, fresh fruit, and orange juice maker. The rest is cereal, bagels, store quality pastries, sugary yogurt cups, and packets of instant oatmeal. The house and rooms are beautiful and two of the upper rooms have interior balconies that look over the dining room. The exterior windows look over green landscaping. The house is in a semi-rural residential area only two miles from downtown New Paltz. I would have rated it as a great location if it were not for the absence of any nearby restaurants where we could get a good breakfast. Unfortunately, the bed mattresses are extra firm (Ie: not very uncomfortable) and are unusually extra high, approximately 34" above the floor. My wife had to put a chair next to the bed in order to climb in. She moved over to the extra couch bed for both her safety and a more comfortable night's sleep. During our stay, the hot water stopped working after the first evening. He could not fix it and was kind enough to refund the second night so we could stay elsewhere. Based on another prior reviews, this is a repeat problem. The place has tremendous potential, but Pablo needs to correct the name to "Guest House," improve the breakfast a little, lower the mattresses, and fix the hot water issue.

My wife and I try to get out of the city during the July 4th weekend and escape the firecrackers! We did a little tour of Ulster County and spent one night at Moondance Ridge before heading back home. What a great choice! First of al, New Paltz is a great place to spend a day. Main Street has some lovely shops and very good food choices. Just driving around some of the small towns that surround it heals my city blues. Moonridge is a two-minute drive to town. Sure, we could stay at some of the local Motel chains. But why? Just stepping into Moonridge is a breath of fresh air. It is quaint-n-quirky with beautiful pine decor, a lovely view from the great room, a library, unique and comfortable furniture, and available snacks. There are only two guest rooms on the first floor and three on the second. That's it. Our suite was on the second floor. The main room was very well-appointed in "Modern Grandma Style." It's an escape from King Ikea. But the mattress on the king bed was extremely comfortable while the bedtable was able to charge all of my devices. That's what I need and that's what I got. There's a small side bedroom with a tv. Frankly speaking, we just wanted to sleep and so we did. I believe the owner put a lot of thought into the bathroom. We've traveled in the country and outside. This is one of the best bathrooms we have been in. Light, wonderful fixtures, and a shower that is more like a spa. We didn't use the jet bathtub but it looked lovely. We would certainly spend another night there!

HEAVEN ON EARTH! Absolutely wonderful place to stay with every creature comfort you can imagine ❤️ My wife and I spent a lovely couple of days in the area and have been here numerous times, I attended New Paltz, but we have never experienced the warmth and ambiance of a place like this! We will definitely be back and you should really consider psychotherapy if you stay anywhere else!! ✌️❤️

Had a great stay at Moondance Ridge on our group bike trip. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the outdoor sauna was the perfect way to end a day of biking. Thanks for everything Pablo!

I am very sad to write this review although I had a good and bad experience here I have been waiting for a refund for more than 30 days 36 atm I have contacted the property and said my refund has been approved but in fact my bank has no sign of it and I am still charged on my account I didn’t want to resort to a bad review but at this point it’s becoming unfair

We had a wonderful stay at Moondance Ridge. Beautiful, comfortable inn on lovely grounds, with fresh berries and other continental breakfast options available all morning! Pablo, the host, was most gracious and accommodating, and the two friendly outdoor cats were a fun "extra."

Stayed here with our dog for my husband’s birthday. As another person said, it feels more like a boutique lodge. Super comfy beds, well appointed bathroom, breakfast foods to have at your leisure. We stayed in a front room on the ground floor - easy to take the dog out, but it’s at the front of the house (so less privacy). The chairs outside were perfect for star gazing at night!

Moondance is such a peaceful and beautiful oasis right beside the gunks and the sweet town of New Paltz. So much to see and do within minutes of Moondance. My room was spotless, spacious and peaceful. Pablo is a wonderful host and could not have been more pleasant. Loved the communal and outdoor space. Missing the two beautiful outdoor cats already. Looking forward to many more stays at Moondance. Thank you!

Beautiful property, buildings, rooms, and amenities! It felt very personal with a lot of care put into making your stay nice. Perfectly situated with easy access to New Paltz and surrounding state parks. Definitely will be returning!

Pablo is an amazing host – super easy check in, amazing property, two of the most adorable cats, all amenities you would need for an upstate trip. Super close to central part of New Paltz, 15-20 minute drive from some of the best hikes in the area, and around an hour to snow sports. Highly recommend for an upstate getaway!
