San Francisco Pride ist eines der ikonischsten LGBTQ+-Events der Welt, jeden Juni in der Stadt, in der die moderne Schwulenrechte-Bewegung ihr spirituelles Zuhause fand. Die 56. SF Pride Parade and Celebration am 27.–28. Juni 2026 zieht über eine Million Menschen auf die Civic Center Plaza und die Paradenroute über die Market Street.
Die Parade am Sonntag, 28. Juni, ist das Herzstück: hunderte Wagen und Gruppen ziehen über die Market Street vom Beale Street zum Civic Center, beobachtet von einer Million Zuschauenden. Das Festival am Civic Center läuft an beiden Tagen mit mehreren Bühnen, Vendoren und Community-Organisationen. Top-Acts und Politiker:innen sind regelmäßig dabei, das Event bleibt explizit politisch in einer Stadt, die ihre queere Politik immer offen getragen hat.
Die Kraft von SF Pride liegt in der Geschichte. Harvey Milk marschierte hier. Das Names-Project-AIDS-Quilt wurde hier gezeigt.
