Ocean Park Hotel

We stayed here for one night because of its convenient location near the Santa Monica Pier. The property offers parking, which was very helpful. The shared bathrooms were also modern, clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the room itself was a major disappointment. The window faced the main road, and the blind was badly damaged, with several slats missing. As a result, people could easily see into the room, which significantly affected our privacy. It also made it difficult to darken the room properly for sleeping. Apart from this issue, we were generally satisfied with our stay. However, something as inexpensive and important as a functioning window blind should really be repaired. For both privacy and a good night’s sleep, this is simply not acceptable.

There are many rooms in this hotel, and not all of them are good. We were given a room where almost everything was broken, so we asked for a room change and were given another one. The room was much better and larger, but the mattress was crooked, with a hole in the middle that we kept sliding down into. I recommend the hotel for one night. We stayed here for three nights, and my back hurt terribly sleeping on that mattress. The walls between the rooms are dark, so you can hear everything 😂

The hotel is very nice - good location, the rooms are clean, and everything is perfect. I don't understand where these negative reviews are coming from. Hairdryers are available, etc. Jason at the front desk is a total star. He's very helpful and friendly, answers every question with interest and is very responsive. I can't do anything but recommend this place. Thank you Jason ;-)

Nice place to get sleep 💤

The photo that appears in google doesn't correspod to the actual hotel. The place is good value, nothing fancy. Great location.

I stayed for one night in room 22 with an ensuite bathroom. My room was close to the stairs, and every time someone went up or down to use the bathroom, my room shook like an earthquake. I practically had a sleepless night due to the constant, deafening noises. The walls were very thin, there was no soundproofing, and the light from the hallway came in through the door because it didn't close properly. A nightmare, especially considering the price. I would definitely have slept better in the car.

The general area is nice and safe. There’s a supermarket 10 min walk away, and a good diner for breakfast 15 minutes walk away called Ted’s Cafe. The bathrooms are clean. The wifi is fast. Price was good, LA is expensive. My room didn’t have a desk. The walls are thin so you can hear what your neighbour is doing (the hotel does provide ear plugs free of charge).

Best in class. Price is most reasonable for this area due to fact that rooms do not have private bathrooms, just sink with mirror. Each floor has public bathroom with 2 stalls, urinal (mens), 2 private showers (each with door and sink. Every other aspect can not be faulted. Super clean. I stay hear every year.

Staff friendly helpful be aware of incidental fees rooms clean but no microwaves and tv have one channel walking distance to Starbucks MC Donald’s Trader Joe’s and Clover Park fun Big Blue Bus Line close and safe to use kind Bus drivers

I found this hotel a very good value for money. The location is superb, a short bus ride or run to the beach. The neighborhoods surrounding the hotel are beautiful and feel very safe. The staff was also kind and accommodating during my stay. They let me leave my bags in their office hours before I checked in to my room which was extremely helpful. The only drawback was the thinness of the walls which were mentioned by other guests. I slept with earplugs in but the noise in the hall still woke me. I put on noise cancelling headphones and was able to fall back to sleep. It would be nice to have a vending machine or purchasable snacks and beverages at the front desk. I would stay here again, thank you Ocean Park Hotel!
