Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol

The rooms were disgusting. My sisters room was terrible! Her mattress had what looked like blood stains. The room I had didn’t look like staff even wiped anything down. There were crumbs under the pull out couch bed and a huge urine stain. Stains on the sheets and filthy comforter. My room had a beautiful view but the entire window didn’t even look to be wiped down.. very thin walls. I was able to hear the room next doors every single move. The plan was a two night stay, instead we left after one night. Besides the room, Front desk staff handled our frustration well and were nice..

I stayed for 5 nights while commuting to the Walter E. Washington Conference Center for work. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The front desk and valet parking staff were all very cheerful, friendly, and helpful. The hotel's location is excellent, close to the city center. I thought the parking fee was high, but the security was good.

Good price, but the room and the bathroom needs some refreshing and renovation. The furniture is old, some stains on them.

Hotel location is good, lobby looks nice but gets busy for breakfast. Room was ok but bathroom had mold as their ventilation is full of dust. Sofa needed some cleaning as well as the carpet by the fridge. Parking is 65$ per day or you can find over the road for much less. Breakfast was delicious! Front desk could be more professional.

We needed a place in the heart of DC and I returned here. Well located with good rates, it worked well for my dad and me. Hyatt Place rooms have an area where you can Zoom without having to show your bed — every hotel in the world should offer that. We also used the lobby area to meet with friends. My dad, 82, endorsed the free breakfast, which he hit at 6 am. The front desk staff, including, Frank, were super friendly.

The location and the room was decent or at par but the service was not good at all, breakfast was not good at all we can barely call that a breakfast We stayed for 3 nights here

Ruby provided a very professional service. She was everywhere. She checks in people, she is the bar tender, she takes food order, etc. She made my stay better.

A perfectly decent hotel, relatively well located in a nice neighborhood. Breakfast is basic and not very varied. There's a lot of plastic and waste, which prevents this hotel from being "eco-certified." Rooms are cleaned late, sometimes as late as 6 pm. The staff is friendly, depending on who you get. A fair price-quality ratio.

I would not recommend for those who are traveling with a family and those who are not patient. It took me a full 40 minutes to check-in as there was no one at the front desk. When I called for late check-out I was held on the que for 30 minutes. I ended up not even going to the front desk for check-out as there was no one there and had a line of 15 people. It disappoints me as someone who frequents Hyatt as this property has been neglected and is clearly understaffed. The front desk manager was cleaning rooms and hauling trash -this hotel needs help. Throughout the hallways there was trash and towels left by housekeeping throughout the day. I would recommend looking at other options as there were homeless defalcating as well as constant police sirens through the night. And careful - half the elevators are broken or have items falling apart in the room. I would only book this if it is at a cheap price or you don't mind a lower brand for Hyatt.
