Hampton Inn & Suites Los Angeles/Sherman Oaks

This was one of the worst stays I’ve experienced at a Hampton Inn. On our second full day, our room was not cleaned and towels were not replenished, which was very disappointing. The breakfast offerings were below average and not what I’ve come to expect from this brand. The front desk staff was not particularly helpful and made the check-in process confusing. There were also instances where commitments were not followed through. I’m still concerned about how my payment was processed, as I couldn’t identify which account was charged. When I called for clarification, I was asked to call back later instead of getting assistance in the moment. We were part of a group rate for a conference, and when I chose to extend my stay by one night, they would not honor the same group rate, which felt inconsistent and frustrating. Additionally, ongoing construction made the stay less enjoyable, and the location itself is inconvenient to get in and out of. While the staff wasn’t outright rude, they were not particularly welcoming or friendly either. Overall, this experience fell well short of expectations for the Hampton brand.

We loved our stay. First off, the customer service is great. We had been planning a trip for my daughter’s birthday and broke down on the way. They only charged us two days instead of the three when they most definitely could have told us no. The rooms are very clean. The location is okay but it’s la so there’s a little sketch everywhere. The parking area was safe and clean. We will definitely be back next year.

In a relatively central location for us, as we had rain damage & had to be out of our home for 2+ months! Free parking. Emily was terrific (night mgr), but the day staff seemed aloof & not very helpful! We only stayed 2 nights, but rooms were decent & clean. Breakfast was nothing to write home about; egg white omelets? Put the yolks back in the eggs; they’re the healthy part! Waffles, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, etc. Some fruit, but no extremely healthy, GMO free food. Decent showers. Easy check-in, thanks to Emily!

Yep I like the service but I don't like other people getting my email so could you please block them from getting my email and using it for a very convenient

I stayed here for one night and unfortunately had a really bad experience. I found a cockroach in my room, which completely ruined my stay. It wasn’t just a quick sighting either. I had to actually search for it and tear things apart just to find and kill it, which was honestly disgusting and unsettling. After bringing it up to the front desk, I was told they couldn’t offer a refund. The only solution they gave me was to move to another room, and that was only after I had already dealt with the situation myself. At that point, I didn’t feel comfortable staying any longer and decided to leave. And out over $230 I understand that maybe if I had spent more money at a higher-end hotel this might not have happened, but the reality is you shouldn’t have to expect something like a roach in any hotel, regardless of the price point. That’s a basic standard of cleanliness. Overall, the situation and how it was handled was really disappointing. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Clean, rooms are great. Free parking. Include breakfast. Hit all the mark for a tourist.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at this hotel. Despite having other nearby options, I chose to go out of my way to stay here as a solo female traveler, expecting to feel safe and comfortable. During my stay, a male employee attempted to touch me inappropriately. I immediately pulled away and returned to my room, where I felt too unsafe and shaken to leave. After checking out, I called the front desk to report the incident. I was told I needed to make the report in person. I explained that I was uncomfortable returning, especially since there were no female staff members present, but I was spoken to in a way that made me feel blamed for the situation. As a victim, I became visibly shaken and emotional, yet the staff member repeatedly pressured me to come back inside to file the report. Even while I was crying and clearly distressed, he continued to insist multiple times. I ultimately stated I would submit my report via email instead. Although I received a confirmation that my report was submitted, I did not receive any follow-up until I reached out myself. When I finally did, the response lacked empathy and accountability, ending only with “we hope to see you again in the near future,” which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the seriousness of the situation. Assault is serious, regardless of the degree. As a solo female traveler, I trusted this hotel to provide a safe environment. Instead, I was left feeling unsafe, unheard, and disregarded. I understand investigations take time, but victims deserve communication, respect, and care throughout the process. This experience felt as though it was being minimized rather than addressed. I hope this review encourages better handling of situations like this in the future, and I sincerely wish safety and protection for all travelers
