📸 Suggest PhotosImportant safety notice for LGBTQ+ travellers: Ghana criminalises consensual same-sex activity under Section 104 of the Criminal Offences Act (up to 3 years imprisonment). In February 2024 parliament passed the "Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill" introducing penalties of up to 5 years for identifying as LGBTQ+ and up to 10 years for advocacy. Enforcement is uneven but real, and social attitudes are hostile in most contexts. This venue is not an openly gay venue. No openly gay establishments operate publicly in Ghana. Listings exist because LGBTQ+ Ghanaians and international visitors gather discreetly, often at massage parlours, gyms, or guest houses with quiet reputations — never with public signage or advertising. If you visit: • Be discreet. Public displays of affection are dangerous. • Verify the venue's current status with local contacts before going — situations change fast. • Apps like Grindr are heavily monitored by police entrapment operations. • Register with your embassy on arrival. • Save the contact details of a local LGBTQ+ rights organisation (e.g. LGBT+ Rights Ghana, though they operate underground). We list these venues for harm reduction — so travellers who go anyway can make informed choices. We do not recommend Ghana as a destination for openly LGBTQ+ travel.
