Gisborne Motel

Great place to be.

A little dated, but clean and comfortable. Excellent service at reception. Very helpful. We were able to park our ute and 4 horse float easily.

Nice curtains but that's it, room was dated and need a good clean. Room felt grotty. Bed uncomfortable. Check in was weird, sign on reception door says out back call mobile, call and given code to open a old key box with various room keys in it. And told your room number for key. On departure drop key in another box. No one is at reception. You see no one. Don't know what would happen if you needed assistance with a room problem or noisy guests. Will never stay here again. AVOID.

I was pleasantly surprised by the room with its lovely new curtains, nice bedside drawers, clean as a whistle and comfy pillows. Hot, hot water and good shower. Popped a few things in the fridge for breakfast and there were bowls, cutlery, glasses and cups along with a toaster and jug. Perfect for a short stay. The greeting on arrival was so friendly. We will stay here again for certain.

There were 2 hotels called the same name, one is in Gisborne Victoria Australia. The other one is in routaroa New Zealand. So we are in Victoria Australia, in the town of Gisborne, trying to book a room for 2 nights, and when we went in the app and booked, we gave our bank details and other particulars and still didn't understand what was happening, I called to check and they had already taken our money and a bond for 2 nights. I can't afford to lose $580 but I did and trying to talk to them to please have . a heart and understand the fact that we booked the motel in Gisborne Victoria and, not in New Zealand. The owner was very rude and didn't care that we had just lost.

Low cost motel

Rooms are small and cozy with basic appliances. Had to listen to screaming and banging objects in the room next door till around 2am. A friend Google searched for pet friendly accommodation and this was first on the list. Found out upon departure that the place isn't pet friendly, then had to listen to the guy whinge and complain and tell me how pissed off he is because I had a pet, I apologised as I didn't make the booking and didn't know, only for him to continue carrying on, REALLY rude. Turns out his issue was that he had to change the bedding which has an extra cost (I thought it would have been standard). Nice to know money was paid for me to sleep on bedsheets that hadn't been changed after the last person staying in the room (unless they had a pet). I'm disgusted by the lack of hygiene, and appalled at the extremely poor attitude I was subjected to. For a much more pleasant (and more hygienic) experience, sleep in your vehicle.
