BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort

My wife and I stayed from Saturday night to Wednesday morning. Overall it was in our opinion was a bellow average place to stay. Apon check we had to drop our bags at reception then drive away to find a carpark, unfortunately there were no carparks close by so we had to walk from where we parked around 100 to 150 meters back to reception and then take our luggage to our room unassisted. It was extremely busy on the Saturday night with a wedding (in a separate area) and normal patrons as well. Restaurant was bellow average, when we asked at reception apon check in we were told we didn't need to book a table for dinner but when we arrived there were no seats and we were squeezed in (sardines comes to mind) there was also not much of a choice of meals either and very pricey for what was offered it was extremely noisy. Kids were running around the accommodation area late at night and disturbed us on several occasions. The two really good points were there was one of the girls on reception that was very nice and helpful and the lady at the Breakfast service was also very nice and helpful. Maybe we were put off most from the girl who originally checked us in "rolled eyes much" We would not stay again. Could go on but I will stop now. This is our opinion and its valid. Maybe your experience will be different.

The issue with how the accommodation is managed by the resort is an issue for Accor. The staff have an aggressive approach regarding the accommodation. I have stayed in Accor hotels for many years and have not seen anything like this.

We stayed for an overnight get away in a standard hotel room. Things we loved..breakfast, lunch, dinner, all 5 star and generous serves. Some drinks a bit pricey, such as bottled water and coconut water. Burger and chips by the pool. Great serve of chips. Tacos and guacamole for dinner and drinks. The flavours were incredible. The breakfast is 5 star. The service was incredible. I kept thinking, oh this employee is giving great service, then the next one did, then the next. The pool side cafe staff, the lunch staff, the dinner and bar staff were switched on and happy to serve. Also, an outstanding job by the lead staff member for mothers day breakfast. Would say that the reception staff could get a few tips from the hospitality staff, as far as making you feel welcomed and valued. We stayed in a standard room, the furtherest away, at carpark 5. The benefit was that it was quite and away from the noise at night. You did have to walk 5 to 10 minutes to get to the main building for lunch/dinner. However, this was a bonus to us. A bit of exercise and it was along a board walk with palm trees either side and a few bush turkeys, very relaxing. Night time, there is an on-site DJ. The quality varies. I think we had a less 'hip' DJ but we made the most of it with some grooves on the grass. Its more of a DJ for background atmosphere, rather than to get people up and dancing. Which is fine, as long as you know. If you want to dance, you need to go out. Back to the rooms. Standard hotel rooms. New decor. It was clean. The bed was comfy. A bonus having a bath. An extra bonus in that they also have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster. Eating utensils. The pool..we stayed in May, so the temperature is obviously going to be cooler. As other reviews have said. The spa temperature is the same as the pool. It would be great if this could be addressed. The pool was freezing but a couple of kids went in, so we went in and it was invigorating and probably on of the highlights of my stay. Feeling brave and conquering the freezing water for some laps. Afterwards, the coffees at the pool bar were exceptional. I love my coffee, so believe me, that is a big compliment. The pool needs respraying, it must have missed out on round one of the upgrades. When in Coffs, we will stay again. Feeling refreshed.

Fantastic stay with truly exceptional service. The reception team were wonderful, and a special mention to Cathy from the breakfast buffet, who was so kind and attentive. She even arranged for the chef to warm my son’s Nutella each morning so it melted perfectly on his waffles. Small details like this made all the difference. Will definitely return!

Sunday night 3rd of May. This is the Best chilli prawn spaghetti I've eaten my whole life.

Amazing overnight stay, close to carpark. The bath/shower was a bit hard to get in and out of, but the shower was great. Didn’t get to use the bath. Location was good, a few minutes off the main road towards the beach. Food is also amazing and served well.

We booked BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort because we enjoy benefits as Accor members. But upon arrival we were informed that the restaurant is independently owned, so our members' discount could not be used, not even for breakfast. Furthermore, the cottages (or bures as they call them) are owned by individual investors, so the condition of each can be a bit "hit and miss" - and I quote here the receptionist. We were allocated bure #30, a good location not too far from reception, parking and pool. The cottage was in good condition and very spaceous with seperate bedroom, living/kitchen area and large bathroom with big spa-bath. The restaurant and bar was really busy on the Saturday night ; it clearly is popular with the local crowd and has a bit of a nightclub feel. We ordered an icecream, which came in a small glass and cost us $ 20.

Outdated and overpriced.

Excellent stay

Great location with easy access to the beach, and the pool facilities are excellent for kids, making it a good family friendly stay overall. That said, the villas do feel quite outdated and could be better maintained, especially considering the premium pricing. Cleanliness can be improved too, we noticed ants in the kitchen area during our stay. Parking was another challenge, as the spots near our villa filled up quickly and we had to use street parking. It would be helpful if dedicated parking was allocated per villa. Overall, a decent stay with strong potential if these areas are addressed.

Liked most things, but didn’t like that there was no housekeeping, no luggage service, poor reception. In my room, the wifi and tv were not working. Lastly, I didn’t like that the restaurant was not part of Accor and hence none of the benefits applied. Basically, being a Platinum + member felt meaningless.

We recently enjoyed a lovely breakfast buffet with our family, friends, and relatives at BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort, and it was such a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and perfect for a family gathering. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of options to choose from. There was something for everyone — from classic hot breakfast items like eggs, bacon, sausages, and hash browns, to lighter choices such as fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, and toast. Everything was well-prepared, fresh, and consistently replenished. The coffee and juices were also a great addition to start the day right. What made the experience even better was the beautiful resort setting. Dining with a tropical and beachside vibe really added to the overall experience. The surroundings were clean and well-maintained, and the dining area was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our big group. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made us feel relaxed and well taken care of throughout the morning. It was a perfect place to slow down, enjoy good food, and spend quality time with loved ones. Overall, we had a fantastic breakfast experience and would definitely recommend it for families and group gatherings. We look forward to coming back again soon!
