Pelyang Boutique

We stayed at Pelyang Boutique for two nights while visiting Thimphu. The hotel has very nice traditional architecture with lots of beautiful wooden details, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. There were quite a lot of guests during our stay, so the meals felt a bit chaotic at times and some food ran out quickly. Still, overall we had a good experience. The location is also convenient — you can easily walk to nearby markets and shops.

Nice hotel, good food and service

The behaviour of the staff is very bad towards the guests... they pay more attention to guests from usa or other foreign countries but to guests from india they behave very poorly. They cancelled my spa session without notice when i had taken appointment one day before .. qnd it was cancelled because they were taking session for someone from usa. I waited at the spa for 15 mins .. called them out .. noone responded. Later they called and informed me that they have only 1/2 hr for spa as they ahve other appointment and were blaming me that i didnot come in time.. whoch was a lie ...At the buffet.. they are busy helping the guests from usa .. and for guests from india they ask to be seated qt the corner seat. I faced this racism only in pelyang boutique hotel.. otherwise the whole of bhutan were very warm towards us. It was really disappointing experience to stay at this hotel... i will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed for only one night. It is in a great location as it is walkable to the markets. The rooms were very neat and spacious.

Stayed for 2 nights. The whole establishment seemed pretty new and clean, room was cosy, and the staff were all very pleasant. As others have also mentioned, the shower water pressure was excellent, it was so lovely to have nice hot showers after a long day out.

The hotel is located near the old city centre. The room is spacious and clean. The shower is hot and strong. The staff are very friendly and tried their best to help. The food at buffet is not top to our taste (one night there was fish but they used that type of fish with so many small bones that it was basically unbeatable.) The service can be improved as their internal communication is not adequate. For example, they forgot to prepare a breakfast bag that we double confirmed the night before.

This will be my go-to hotel in Thimphu from now on. Modern & very functional rooms, perfect location to the main commercial area, post office, banks, restaurants, bars, and food market. Exceptional service. Full breakfast buffet with excellent handmade coffee available as an extra. They even have a good workout room.
