An old hotel in East Jerusalem, near the Damascus Gate. Bask in nostalgia.

If you are hunting for a 5-star luxury resort experience, the Jerusalem Hotel isn't the place for you, But if you care about character, incredible service, and getting the absolute best value for your money in the city, this place is a hidden gem. The hotel is a stunning 19th-century Arabic mansion, and the design completely reflects that authentic oriental, Levantine aesthetic, From the moment you walk into the lobby, you are surrounded by historic architecture, beautiful traditional furnishings, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a peaceful retreat from the bustling city streets. The onsite restaurant and garden area are fantastic. They serve delicious, authentic Levantine cuisine—the food is genuinely good, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Getting to enjoy traditional tastes right at the hotel adds so much to the whole experience. The absolute highlight of this hotel is the team. The staff members are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel right at home and are always ready to assist with anything you need. ⚠️ One Important Heads-Up The only real downside to the room is the curtains—they are not light-proof, If you are the type of traveler who needs a pitch-black, cave-like room to sleep through the daytime, you might struggle here as the morning light leaks right through. Bringing a high-quality eye mask is highly recommended!

Location Very centrally located, right next to the bus terminal in a busy area, which makes it easy to access. Food The food was good, served as a generous shared platter at the table. The flavours were quite strongly seasoned, which stood out, but did not take away from the overall enjoyment. Service Service was kind and welcoming, with a slightly homely, family-style feel despite being part of a hotel. Atmosphere and Space The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it still manages to accommodate a reasonable number of guests without feeling overly cramped. Facilities The toilets could benefit from more regular cleaning, as they did not match the otherwise positive impression. General Impression A very good lunch spot with great food and friendly service, slightly let down by small details in maintenance.

We just staying round the corner and was advised to go for a meal at the restaurant. What a wonderful welcome from the owner and his wife. The environment is wonderful and the food was amazing. Their son the next day was inside when we had an issue and he gladly help and showed us the hospitality of the Palestinian people. When I come back to Jerusalem I am sure I will come back to dine or stay at this wonderful place. Home from home is the best way to describe
