HEARTS Capsule Hotel & Spa HAKATA

Suitable for those who like a prison-like atmosphere and cramped conditions. Shower waits are expected during peak hours, and the lockers are always full. The onsen (hot spring) is just a small hot tub. The staff said the onsen is open 24 hours, so I have doubts about its cleanliness. The washbasin only has three stalls. The toilet is used by people from the bus stop, but it only has two stalls 😂. If you have a stomachache and need to defecate immediately, it's risky. The room's decor is prison-style. The fan inside the capsule is very noisy; I had to sleep with the curtain open. However, the owner has installed a lot of LED strip lights on the bottom of the capsule, so the light shines right into your seat. Besides being near Hakata Chicken Skin Minister (a popular hotel chain), three convenience stores, and being located above the bus stop, this capsule hotel is probably the worst in my opinion.

I felt the front desk service wasn't very good. The bedroom was clean. I guess it's okay if you just need a place to sleep? But as someone who works in the hotel industry, I probably won't come back.

Spa use only I was worried because of reviews saying it was dirty, but it wasn't that bad. I used it around 7 PM on a weekday. It seemed like no one had used it since cleaning had just finished, so it was fairly clean. It was a bit small, but there weren't many users, so it wasn't inconvenient. It costs 800 yen if you don't need towels. They gave me a toothbrush. There are 6 showers and 4 hair dryers. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, lotion, and moisturizer are provided. There were also tissues and a trash can, and even though it wasn't spotless, I was perfectly happy using it. However, it is quite small, so it might be difficult if it's crowded.

The location is excellent and the price is low, but the locker room and locker capacity are too small, making it unsuitable for travelers. There isn't even tissue at the bathroom sink, which is inconvenient. There are many strangers coming and going in the common areas, so you have to be careful when moving around in your loungewear.

Visited in mid-May 2026 I arrived in Hakata by overnight bus from Namba, Osaka, and arrived at the HEARTS Bus Terminal. I don't usually take the Shinkansen when coming to Fukuoka, so I hadn't been to the Hakata area much, but this bus terminal is a truly wonderful facility. First, there's a bathing facility where you can soothe your tired body after a sweaty overnight bus ride. You can use it for up to two hours for 800 yen (1000 yen with a towel), and it seems there's a sauna in the men's bath. There's also a cafe space with various udon noodles, alcohol, and seats with power outlets, so you can relax. In addition, there's a capsule hotel, souvenir shops, and many other facilities to enjoy. Finally, although there are many foreign staff members, they are all polite and kind. I highly recommend this facility.

Avoid. This is easily one of the worst capsule layout designs I've ever experienced. -Capsule bed location requires you to go through two keycard locked doors to use the bathroom which is open to the public at the bus station (nobody wanted this) 🤢🤮 Imagine having to wake up to take a pee just to forget your keycard -No Privacy, Communal Showers -Impossible to sleep as it's extremely noisy (even for a capsule hotel) Avoid at all costs until they renovate.
