Colombo Pride

Sri Lanka still carries a colonial-era criminalization statute — and Colombo Pride happens anyway, every June, and has since 2005. Run by EQUAL GROUND, it's a week-long festival rather than a street march: the Abhimani queer film festival, kite-flying on Galle Face Green, drag performances, workshops and parties across the city, built to celebrate safely in a legal grey zone.
