Hotel Sol Dorado

We stayed for eight days at the Golden Sun Hotel in Hanoi, and the experience was excellent from beginning to end. The hotel is very well located, pleasant, and the staff is truly welcoming. A huge thank you to David for his professionalism and exceptional kindness. He is always smiling, warm, and very attentive. He takes the time to chat with guests, gives excellent advice, and shares great tips for discovering Hanoi in the best possible way. No matter the request, he always finds a solution with great kindness. His hospitality truly made our stay even more enjoyable. We recommend this hotel without hesitation and will gladly return!

Where do i even start? It is my family’s first time here at golden sun hotel and i would 100% recommend.The staff, specifically David who runs reception and Linh who runs breakfast service, goes above and beyond and is the true definition of what customer service is. Their warm friendly smiles and willingness to accommodate my family, whether it was providing recommendations, organizing transportation, letting us know the vietnam local scoop, or even just cooking/preparing the food they know we like because they simply observed what we ordered from the morning before, and both David and Linh is truly what makes our trip to vietnam mean that much more. The cleaning staff are very efficient and does a great job, replenishing our water supply as well as giving us clean fresh towels every day. if you and your family are planning a trip to vietnam, golden sun hotel is the place for you. it is located right in old quarter, and is perfect walking distance to the lake, pharmacy, laundry services, banks/atm machines, supermarkets, restaurants, shops, and so much more! It isn’t on a too busy street, so the noise is level is not an issue. Overall, if I could rate this hotel from a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 100!! Truly a place to be in Hanoi, and David and Linh are truly what made our experience so special

David and Linh were amazing! The absolute sweetest and gave excellent customer service. I would recommend to anyone this Hotel as it’s located in the Old Quarter but not in a very noisy street. Both went out of their way to support my family during our 4 night stay, and we truly appreciate the hospitality. Thank you David and Linh!!!!!!!!!

The hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff is super welcoming. They looked after us and gave us advice for days. It was a fantastic experience. Davide was very kind, he helped us book transportation and held our bags.

Front desk is friendly, location is good. Sadly nothing else is. The room door is not sound-proof at all. Can hear anyone talk outside (different floor) loud and clear, or anyone closes the door. Room is old, cleaning was not done properly. Bedsheet had hair and yellow stain (which was replaced by the staff later), bathroom still has lots of hair on the wall.

Located right in the Old Quarter which makes it close to everything. The service was great -- we're given fresh towels and 2 bottles of water everyday without us having to ask. The breakfast is great - there is a small change in the food lineup each day. The small garden on the rooftop allows a person to smoke and take the neighborhood scenery in.

We had a family room with 2 Queen beds. room and bathroom is quite spacious. Breakfast spread is good with freshly grinded watermelon and mango juices. Plenty of local fruits such as mango, banana,watermelon and more. You can also order fresly made eggs of choices or pho. Overall very good stay and location is in Old Quarter quite near the lake.

Lovely hotel for one short night :)

The room was filthy! Lots of dust, cobwebs, and grime on the walls, suggesting it hadn't been cleaned in ages! No windows facing outside! The photos make it look much better than it actually is! The walls are poorly soundproofed; we were woken up all night by noise from neighboring rooms! The building is well located, however, and the man at reception was very kind and gave us a warm welcome! It's a shame the cleanliness and noise ruined our stay! Upon our departure, the reception asked us to give a perfect 10/10 rating to help support the hotel, so the score is artificially inflated and nowhere near a 9/10! Therefore, I'm giving it a 1/10 instead of a 3/10 for this reason! Don't be fooled! The hotel is far too expensive for what it's really worth! Advice: at that price, choose something better!

Great location and great service from the front reception staff. The family room we got was large and perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 children.

Really nice Hotel closed to the city center. The hotel staff's service, specially from his manager, was outstanding.
