for a nice Weekend in Prag a very good place to sleep , Food i think is better to go outside for dinner Close to the Metro , 5 min walk . Parking gets complicatet with the new regulations in Prag. Hope it will get better again
After a week in the city centre it was so nice to get out of it and to the peace and tranquility at villa mansland. I lost a whole day on the terrace with a few vodkas chatting to the manager. The manager needs a special mention as well as he is so friendly and welcoming. The whole place is clean throughout, the rooms are comfy and smell really nice. The bathroom for the basic rooms could do with an update as a bit dated but spotlessly clean - I believe the deluxe rooms upstairs have been updated already and are lovely. The pool isn't there but is being replaced by a hottub on the terrace which I am looking forward to on my next visit. I visited on a Sunday and enjoyed it so much I booked a second night. I would say this is very much ideal for a relaxing break during the week as the club doesn't get busy other than the weekends, again I am going to include a weekend on my next trip... Walking is easy from ladvi metro where you are in the city centre in 15 minutes and there is a night tram to get back if you are out late.. Also, always contact the manager directly even if some sites say it is full as they only have some rooms listed on booking.com etc... Very quick replies on their email. A+++ and can't wait to return and use some of the improved spa facilities and the club a weekend..
My partner and I were in Prague for three days. Not long enough to see the vast amount that there is in that beautiful city and country. We chose Villa Mansland because I had stayed there about 6 years before and liked the hotel and what it offered. It is now under new ownership (Peter, who is also the chef) and there are many improvements. New decor, upgraded rooms, new beds, new paint. The beautiful garden is still there and the friendly and helpful staff are as I remember. The onsite manager (Norman?) speaks excellent English and is great to talk with, and helpful if there are any concerns. We arranged for one of their friends, John, to guide us about the city for the time we were there. He is great! Expert knowledge of the transportation system and knows his way around they city, with many ideas about what to see and do. Don't miss Karlstejn Castle! Plus, he is a lot of fun. Highly recommended! There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel. Great Czech beer and excellent breakfasts and dinners. The barman is also to be complimented. If you request, they will pick you up and take you to the train or airport at additional cost, but well worth it, if you are first time there. Villa Mansland offers different activities and shows in the hotel, but sadly, not while we were there. The hotel is not located in the center area, but the bus, muni and metro are only a few minutes away. We would come back again any time. If you want to catch any of the hotels events, check their calendar and arrange your trip accordingly.
No good price/quality . We have stay here good but it s not very ideal hotel to visit This beautiful city. Next time that we will visit Praga we will stay in hotel center.... Sorry...We are only old man with young boy.... Why? So we stay here ok but no in
I have been visiting Prague and Villa Mansland for seven years. It has become an annual visit, as the owner (Harry) and staff have become like family to me. This is NOT a four star hotel, and is NOT in the middle of central Prague and all of the parties. It IS a wonderfully friendly and relaxing hotel with a staff of young men that are very friendly and attentive to the guests. The outdoor deck and gardens are beautiful and well tended by Jarda. The bar staff is supervised by Stefan, who is also the cab driver, and is dedicated to ensuring good service. Olga runs the hotel side for Harry, and is a wonderfully friendly person. I spent four days at the Villa and left totally relaxed and satified. I cannot wait to return, in this beautiful old capital city there is a small jewel that is the Villa Mansland.
This is hardly a normal hotel ! The rooms are large, comfortable, and well furnished. Breakfast is supplied. If you don't speak Czech be prepared for some "misundersatndings" The attendant 'boys' have a better command of English or German than the staff. It seems to be run for the staff's benefit. Evening meals are better taken elsewhere. Beware the 5% credit card surcharge. The promised entertainment eg bingo will be cancelled if only a few guests remain. The promise of a strip show ? Well the 'dance floor' remained empty ! Beware of buying drinks for the staff - they have expensive tastes. The resident rooster will be sure you are up at daybreak (04.00) regardless of how late you got to bed. And he does not stop his crowing - advise strangulation. Wacky backy is openly smoked. Normal cigarette smoking throughout the premises, at the bar, over breakfast etc. Get to like it ! Was the sauna open ? No sign of it during my stay. The garden has more to interest than the floorshow (?). The offer of a car pick up - language problems - took a taxi. Guided tour of city / clubs etc - not available regardless of the website. Owner seems to be resident abroad and looking to sell. Perversely I rather enjoyed my stay, but it was a bit of a competition. Located out of town. Metro is 500 metre and tram to town even closer.
The team running this hotel don't know anything about service. We arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and whilst this arrived on time, when we arrived at the hotel it seemed a complete surprise to them. The hotel is in need of a good clean and the staff only seem to want to serve the gentlemen who are clearly there to pay for sex. We paid for Suite 9, which stank of stale smoke and needs decorating (preferably by someone with taste). Check out after one night.
Villa Mansland combines a material comfort with the human comfort which makes me feel very good.Warm atmosphere, so easy to make nice contacts, only gaymen and boys, very friendly staff with a good attention for the guests, good management, freedom and safety! I'll come back with pleasure.
Stayed in November and was satisfied with the Villa Mansland. My room nr. 8 was well furnished, clean and quiet in the night. I also recommend theirs restauranr menu. Its not that big, but always fresh prepared and very tasty. I was actually suprized about wellness facilities. Big sauna and whirhpool with a professional masseur. I will reommend this place to my friends and come back.
'One of Prague's best kept secrets' it strangely declares on the villa's promotion. Why would a business wish to be a secret? Some of the reasons become apparent when you stay there. It has some good points. The rooms are spacious, well furnished, warm and comfortable - and reasonably priced. The bathroom facilities are quite good. But there are truely bad points! While David, the manager, is very polite and professional, if he is not around you are left at the mercy of indifferent, moody amateurs. Drink and, amazingly, food is 'served' in the Secondary Cancer Salon, otherwise known as the lounge. This is a digusting environment thanks to the staff and various hangers-on chain smoking throughout the day. This may be legal in the Czech Republic, but it just isn't acceptable by modern European standards. Suggestions on earlier posts that action has been taken to address both the surly staff and the toxic atmosphere appear to be without foundation. So, if these are conditions you are prepared to endure in return for the villa's opportunities, then fine; but if you prefer proper service and enduring health, then this is a secret in which you do not have to share.
