Hôtel Nice Riviera

The hotel is very well located with a private parking lot (for a fee) which must be reserved in advance to guarantee a space. The bedding was very comfortable (although the parquet floor was scratched, and some light switches were loose), but we slept very well! The room was clean. Access to the heated pool was free (the door handle came off in your hand...). It's necessary to reserve in advance to get a spot at the pool. The breakfast was excellent, very generous, with both savory and sweet options – a real treat. The staff's welcome upon arrival was cold and distant, which was a shame.

We stayed at five different hotels on our two week vacation through Italy and France and this was the worst and only bad experience. The shower had a hole and was unusable and we had to move to another room. They didn’t even help move us. They didn’t have a concierge to help with information and they were not kind.

I'm so disappointed with this hotel because of the view from my room on the inside. It overlooks the roof of a parking garage. It's truly awful to see. It's filthy and completely neglected. The hotel could afford to put some greenery on the roof instead, to make it more pleasant to look at when we open the window. Something to think about!

Disastrous. 1 star would be more appropriate. The room was extremely outdated, with no amenities whatsoever, not even cotton balls, and the phone didn't work. There was no help with luggage. The staff was unpleasant. I have rarely seen such a mediocre hotel with so many negative points. Avoid it. Real 4-star hotels exist in Nice.

My stay at the Riviera Hotel in Nice was a huge disappointment. For a 4-star establishment, I expected a much higher level of service and comfort. We arrived on June 8, 2026, at 2:55 p.m., just five minutes before the official check-in time of 3:00 p.m. The trainee receptionist told us that the room wasn't ready and that we would have to wait. When I asked if it was possible to get another room that was already available, my request was refused without any real attempt to find a solution. Most surprising was that I was told the hotel was full and that it was impossible to change rooms. Yet, a few moments later, I checked on Booking.com myself, and several rooms were still available for booking that same night. I therefore found this response very difficult to understand and felt that no effort was being made to satisfy the customer. At my age and after many trips, I'm used to hotels and hotel service. When something seems inconsistent, I notice it immediately. As the saying goes, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." The assigned room unfortunately confirmed my disappointment. The view overlooked a dreary and uninteresting inner courtyard. The overall atmosphere was dark, unwelcoming, and created more of a feeling of unease than comfort. The most shocking aspect was the state of the room's entrance door. It showed obvious signs of wear and tear, as if it had been forced or damaged previously, without any proper repairs. For a hotel claiming 4 stars, this level of maintenance is hardly acceptable. We had booked through Booking.com for €135. Once there, the bill reached €165 with parking and tourist tax. Even taking these additional charges into account, the value for money falls far short of the standards one would expect from a hotel in this category. In conclusion, between an unprofessional welcome, explanations that seemed unconvincing, a disappointing room, an uninviting courtyard view, and questionable maintenance of the facilities, I consider this hotel to be far from the level of quality expected of a 4-star establishment. My rating: 2 out of 5 stars. I left with the feeling that I had paid the price of a 4-star hotel for a service that, in my opinion, is closer to that of a 2-star establishment.

The website photos are completely not accurate. This is an old and outdated hotel. The halls are dark. Flirting is old and there is even an odd smell in the rooms. Our rooms for the family were not put next to each other as requested. It just wasn’t comfortable. The staff are there but nothing extraordinary. Service was average to fair. The location is centrally located so if the rest doesn’t bother you then you’re good. There are many other choices that I would consider instead for future.

Disappointed with a 4-star hotel. My room was more like a good one. The bed was against the wall and the shower was too small (80x80 cm) with a flimsy curtain that stuck to you while you were washing. We're bus drivers, so...maybe we don't deserve better, but we bring you the passengers.

Very good hotel where we stayed for one night. Close to everything, clean room.

Very clean hotel, very kind staff, excellent location, Ettorina and very comfortable pillows, you couldn't ask for more, I recommend it and will keep it in mind for the next weekends in Nice.

In my opinion, I don't think it deserves four stars. It has a pool that they charge for. You can't get a gin and tonic because they don't have tonic water... and they don't have beer either. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is just okay.
