An exceptional place, wonderful people, excellent service. I can't wait to come again!

It's a truly Cretan hotel. It seems family-run, and if there's no one at reception, you can ask at the restaurant or the pool. Easy parking, close to the center of Heraklion. The breakfast is 100% homemade. In my experience, very good...all the staff were very friendly.

Upon arrival, we appreciated the on-site parking and lovely swimming pool. Each room has its own balcony and air conditioning, and we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of water, a very thoughtful touch. The room isn't luxurious, but it's very pleasant and comfortable, with clean towels, shampoo, and shower gel provided. The bed is a little too firm for my liking, but it's still adequate for a good night's sleep. The hotel has a local charm, and even though the staff isn't always present, you feel safe and secure. The breakfast, prepared fresh to order, is delicious, homemade, and made with local products.

Great place, great combination of everything one might need for a nice vacation. We had a ground floor room, with large twin beds with good mattresses, more than enough space for clothes and luggage, a very clean and perfectly functional bathroom. The furniture in the lobby and part of the rooms is “old”, but (with a special note for the collection in the lobby), old as in “vintage”, of very good quality and very well preserved. We had a compact, but quite large, in fact, refrigerator with freezer, that offered enough space for our selection of cheese, wine, juice, beer, olives, fruits and sweets and kept everything really cold. We also had a large kettle, a couple of coffee/tea cups, with tea spoons, and a pair of water/juice glasses. The air conditioning was brand new and worked well, we tested it just for review, but other people let theirs work for hours without problem. There were beautiful trees and flowers in front of the balcony, where we enjoyed some candlelight dinners with Cretan products. The garden is full of flowers and various species of trees, there are also olive, orange, lemon and pomegranate trees that were all full of fruits when we got there. In the garden there is a beautiful spot when you can go eat, or for a coffee and talk, with very decorative white iron tables and chairs (with comfortable pillows), apart from the similar one adjacent to the lobby where breakfast is served. The breakfast was fresh, tasty and hearty, with omelette, fried eggs, boiled eggs, charcuterie and yellow cheese, fried charcuterie and vegetables, yogurt, butter, coffee and milk, juice, cold water and a large selection of home made salty/sweet pastry that the owners were making on the spot, with their own hands. Speaking of good food, the family business also comprises a restaurant named Pergola, separated from the hotel by a part of the garden that also includes the pool, which is next to the bar and restaurant. The food and the service are great. They are famous for their pizza, but they also prepare delicious Cretan specialties, everything is very fresh and tasty. - a big plus for the fact that one can enjoy the pool till 9.30 in the evening, we had great swims under the stars, sorrounded by flowers blown by the wind into the pool, that kept floating for a while, till the powerfull circulation system pushed them out. The pool is 0.9 to 2.20 m deep, and the deep part is large enough to also get a bit of good exercise while swimming for the sake of some pool time in the golden sun or under the stars. One can order drinks at the pool, and we had very good coffee there. The hotel has its own large parking place and free parking is also available on the adjacent street. We rented a car from the office next door, at a good price. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel. One can easily get to a very large supermarket (part of the big Sklavenitis chain), either by bus or via a seven minutes car trip. There is also a good shop with food, water, cosmetics and various other useful things opposite to Pergola. The large, beautiful Ammoudara beach is across the street, one can actually see the sea from the side of the boulevard where Pergola is situated. There are good tavernas on the beach, and some of them also have nice pools. There are many other great things to discover in the area (for example the place where Almyros river joins the sea is splendid, and taverna To Rodi has to be checked), but I will stop here, advising everyone to look on the map and make a list according to their personal preferences. There is something for everyone, there, for sure, and more than one thing.

Quiet 2-star hotel near Heraklion. Family-run: there's usually no one at the reception; you can find them at the nearby restaurant or at the souvenir shop. Homemade breakfast: they prepare everything freshly. Everything was delicious; we had a great time. There's also a swimming pool.

The hotel is very nice. Its a place were you feel right at home, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast was more than expected, all the essentials and traditional greek breakfast. The hotel is not new and with classic furniture but still very clean. The hotels restaurant was very nice. The surroundings at the hotel was very nice with lemontrees, olivetrees and beautiful flowers.

Reasonable price, the owner is very enthusiastic and friendly.

The rooms are basic, but renovations are underway. The service is excellent! The owners are very friendly, and the breakfast is original and delicious. The hotel is situated in a beautiful, large garden, which also features a lovely swimming pool. Excellent value for money.
