Lo que dicen los críticos

Visitors praise Meia Praia for its long, wide, and clean sandy beach with ample space and easy access. However, a recurring complaint is the issue of dogs being present and sometimes fouling the beach, despite signs indicating they are not allowed.

Sobre este lugar Meia Praia

Meia Praia is Lagos's largest beach, a roughly four-kilometre sweep of soft sand running northeast from the marina toward the golf course and estuary. The lifeguarded western section is a busy, well-equipped family beach, while the far, quieter eastern end - sometimes called Vale da Lama - is the area's informal gay and naturist spot, tucked behind the low dunes. It is easily reached on foot from town, by the seasonal water taxi across the estuary, or by car to the eastern car parks. Clear, calm water and a lot of open space make it a relaxed choice for a long beach day away from the busier town coves.

Long Beach with fine sand and clear water. Perfect if you like to walk along the sea. Easy to find a spot on the beach. I would recommend to avoid on windy days.

The half beach offers a very easy access, with 2 bars/restaurants (the Bahia is cheaper) and free parking (receive early). Long range of sand and close to the center, is not the most beautiful, but fun!

Beautiful beach, long and white soft sand. From October through April you are allowed to walk your dog off leash on the entire beach.

Wonderfully beautiful sandy beach, wide and long and clean. Here and there a little gastronomy but above all plenty of space for everyone.

For me, one of the best beaches in the world (and I’ve been to so many beaches). Superb sandy beach maybe 4km long. Fantastic. One of the only problems is that people take their dogs on the beach - there are signs at every entrance saying dogs not allowed. This is disgusting and should be clamped down on by the authorities.

There are no cliffs far and wide here. But that's not bad, because the good water compensates for many things. Very little seagrass. It can be windy here, but it doesn't have to be.

I would call this a ‘little gem’. Beautiful quiet beach with a small bar and Porta-Loo’s around the back. There’s a supermarket close by (who has such cute dogs!!!) with cheap drinks and some snacks. The lady who did the Thai Massages that day was fantastic. She really got into our knots with her elbows!

This is one of the best beaches in the world. A huge beach, not busy at all, with beach bars dotted along maybe every 300 metres. Very fine quality sand, cold water (it is the Atlantic!), very safe bathing with lots of lifeguards. A truly wonderful beach. The locals do try to spoil the beach, bringing their dogs along and allowing them to foul the beach. There are signs saying dogs not allowed at every entrance to the beach, and the authorities should rigidly enforce this.

We spent a few days in the Algarve and in Lagos we chose this sandy beach. In addition to being wide and very long (it seems to be alone on the beach) it is equipped with umbrellas and bars and restaurants (we tried one for a quick lunch). Obviously the water is a bit cold (we tried to take a quick bath). A day in total relaxation

We searched on the internet decided to travel from sagres with 3 children and dog to spend the day eating and after renting sunbeds informs us the lifeline that dogs are not allowed that the police would come to fine us even the sunbed that we should go to the nude beach so time wasted by following recommendations of this page
