This is an experience, not just a stay. This was my second stay and realky happy to return. Rooms are spacious and well laid out, bathroom includes both bath and separate shower. Breakfast included a good selection and quality ingredients. Dinner was a foodie experience with well presented dishes.
We definately fell in love with this hotel. It was amazing, photos dont do it justice. Staff were wonderful friendly and knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble. Special mention for becky chloe and claire who served breakfast they were wonderful breakfast was amazing a lot of choice. Also the pet sausage for pepper our dog was a great touch. Rooms were lovely and very spacious My husband had a pet room which had pet bed blanket dog treats pet bags and 2 dog bowls on the ground floor. Freestanding bath in rooms were a fabulous touch and the toiletries by noble isle smelt gorgeous. The lady in the gift shop was lovely. Will definately be back next year. Sad to come home.
Our stay at Bodmin Jail Hotel & Museum for my partner’s birthday was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome and completely spoiled throughout our Prisoner Experience. A huge thank you to our Warden, Elliot (Warren) , who made the experience unforgettable with his energy, professionalism, and brilliant sense of humour. He truly brought the whole experience to life. The entire team was exceptional, but we especially want to recognise Jo, the General Manager, who went absolutely above and beyond to make our stay so special. Her attention to detail, warmth, and genuine care were second to none. Thanks to Jo, my partner’s birthday felt truly unforgettable. From the beautiful roses waiting in our room to the complimentary drinks and all the thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and her passion for creating an amazing guest experience really shines through. The hotel itself is stunning, with such a unique atmosphere that perfectly blends luxury with the fascinating history of the jail. The museum and experience were brilliantly done and unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. We left already talking about when we can come back. Thank you again to Jo, Elliot (Warren) , and the whole team for making this such a memorable and special stay. Highly recommended!
We stayed for 3 nights and I would recommend this hotel to everyone! Bodmin was a perfect spot for us to travel to various places in Cornwall that we wanted to see. The hotel is very nicely renovated, the staff are very friendly, and the food in the restaurant is fresh and tasty. The room was nice and spacious, with a heated floor in the bathroom. I liked the complimentary soft drink minibar with local drinks. We took a tour of the museum and ended up researching the place for days after our return. Highly recommended, and we will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area again!
Hotel built in a historic prison in Cornwall. The hotel is centrally located in the region. Fine restaurant, though pricey; you can also dine in the bar.
We recently stayed at Bodmin Jail Hotel for three nights as a family. Overall, the hotel itself was very impressive. The receptionist was polite, welcoming, and professional throughout our stay, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well presented. However, we were extremely disappointed that during a three-night stay, the hotel was unable to accommodate us for dinner on one of the evenings, stating that the restaurant was fully booked. What made this more frustrating was learning that many of the reservations were for people who were not even staying at the hotel. As paying hotel guests staying multiple nights, I would have expected some level of priority or flexibility to ensure we could dine at the hotel at least once during our stay as a family. Unfortunately, this left us feeling undervalued as residents. While the hotel itself is unique and the staff were courteous, the dining situation significantly impacted our overall experience. Sadly, based on this experience, we would not choose to stay here again
