Good ambience, good food, good service, highly recommend

Lovely restaurant and decor, we have fish and chips soon good so big size and portion, the only downside the gravy is super small portions, the staff were great, if you happen to pass by this place , and craving the traditional fish and chips..this is my favourite:)

Super pub and lovely staff. Great that you can have Indian and pub classic food.

We were passing by, and decided to call in for dinner. We both had dishes from the classic pub menu, cajun chicken, and a burger. The food was amazing, and the staff very attentive, polite and helpful.

A warm welcome, clean and tidy rooms, lovely bar and restaurant and a very memorable and authentic Indian meal set the scene well. Overall, the Falcon offers very good value for money. We were attending a funeral of a family member and the hotel arranged an early check in to allow us to get changed and were very sensitive when we returned after the funeral. The hotel and restaurant is well run by caring people and deserve being well supported. Thank you for making a difficult day much more bearable.

This was our first time staying at the Falcon, it certainly will not be our last. The staff were extremely friendly, professional and efficient. The room was spotless and provided everything we needed including tea and coffee facilities. But we have to say the food in the restaurant was absolutely first class, best indian meal we have ever had. Well Done the whole team at the Falcon, we will be back. Roger and Jackie Ahearn

I had high hopes for Sunday Lunch at the Falcon but sadly was left disappointed. I ordered the "Crispy Fish" and this was not Crispy at all - we were left in the room and didn't see any staff for a while (no checkbacks were done) so I ended up eating it. It appeared to have been microwaved in some Encona Sweet Chilli Sauce hence the sogginess. We then waited so long for the Mains (Sunday lunch remember) that we discussed and then booked a holiday online. Still no sign of the food. When the Mains did eventually come (over an hour) they were really tasty but there was no word of apology regarding the really long delay. The one waiter did come over halfway through spraying and wiping some nearby tables to ask if the food was ok (which it was). He then went back to spraying and wiping tables and, with his colleague, dragging tables and chairs around near us. We ordered desserts which did come quickly thankfully. The food (apart from the non Crispy Fish) was lovely, the decor tasteful and it's a nice Country Pub vibe but thoroughly ruined by indifferent service and lack of attention to detail. I'm going to give this place one more chance as this might have been a one-off and the kitchen and waiting staff and management all having an off day. Let's see shall we.

We visited this place for an early dinner and the first thing that impressed me was the building and it's location - surrounded by picturesque landscape and a very well maintained restaurant. The wooden decor, seating, lighting and interiors all give you a timeless feeling. We got seated promptly and the menu looked good with their monthly special menu also having some impressive dishes. Staff and service was good and they were very attentive and friendly. All this, however, didn't take away the fact that the food, even though freshly made was lacking in the flavour department and woefully fell short in the price-to-portion-size space. Chicken and paneer starters were both decent but they came only with a drizzle of sauce and none on the side for self service if we needed more. The butter chicken fell flat and tasted very bland. The chicken biryani was presented well but the masala inside was not cooked properly and was again lacking the punch you would expect. The raita accompanying it was a tiny portion. The portion size of the dal was comical of sorts for the £8 price tag. I wanted something on the table to warrant me coming back for a meal here but was left disappointed. Will probably recommend this place for the sights and maybe to try the British food.

Food was stunning, particularly the beef. Staff were friendly and accommodating, would have been 5 star, however the crackling on the pork was a slight let down due to being rubbery but the pork itself was again very nice. Will be back !
