Epping Forest

One of London's oldest open-air cruising grounds, Epping Forest has drawn men to its NE fringe since long before the war. The action clusters in the wooded stretches near the ponds around High Beach and behind the Warren, easiest from the Loughton and Chingford sides. Weekends and long summer evenings are busiest, with things picking up after dusk. It is ancient woodland rather than a lit park, so bring a torch, keep to paths you know, tell someone where you are, and read the room before approaching anyone. Keeper patrols and dog-walkers pass through, so discretion goes a long way.
